When should I sign up for Ridemax? I seem to remember that last time I used it the info was available maybe 60 days or so before my trip. I like to plan well ahead of the time.

Have there been any updates as far as making it more user friendly/easier in the past couple years?

Are there any good alternatives to Ridemax for planning timing for rides?

TIA! :goodvibes

Well you can now access Ridemax on an internet site, so you can make your plans online and then access and change them on your smartphone.

I think they actually say to make your plans as close to the date as possible because things can change in the 60 days before you leave. Of course it is never to early to get started in my opinion. It can be fun to keep playing and tweaking the program.

I don't know of another program that will make a customized plan for you based on the rides you want to see. I know other sites like Touring Plans will have suggestions on what to do first or second, etc. But Ridemax is the only one I know of that will take the rides you want to see and then create a itinerary based around that.

The "Website beta" is very easy to use. I like it a lot. I haven't downloaded it to my smartphone, but will definitely do that before we leave.

As of last night, they still only have dates in September available to build plans. We're going Oct. 22-26, and it's KILLING me not to be able to run a plan for the actual dates yet. But it's fun to do sample plans with the same days of the week to see what our plans might be like.

Thanks for the info! Good to know that you can't even make specific October plans yet. I wanted to start my planning for late January/early February! I know it's early, but I'm OCD and this is my fun! :rotfl:

I've used Touring Plans before for WDW, but I like TGM's advice better. I wish there was a TGM equivalent for DL!

I guess I'll check out Touring Plans and then consider Ridemax closer to the date we leave.

How long is the Ridemax membership good for? We have a trip planned in October 2012 also.

Thanks!

Yeah, I think part of the issue is that Disneyland doesn't release a lot of the info about hours and rides until 60 days out, so Ridemax can't really crunch the numbers until all that is in place.

Ridemax has full year subscriptions and 90 day subscriptions.

I have used the beta on my Blackberry and it works quite well. It isn't an app yet, so you have to access the internet to use it, but it is better than carrying around the paper itinerary in the park. I would hope an app is in the works.

I'm going the first week of Oct. On the ridemax FB. page it said Oct. should be up on the 9th. So you can usually get plans 4-6 weeks in advance, per their web page. Hope this helps .

Are you still a member of Tourguide Mike? If so, if you go to the forums part, there is a disneyland forum. There is a sticky from Bret? if I remember correctly. His plan for disneyland is listed there. :thumbsup2 It is very relaxed sort of plan similar to Tourguide Mike's version for Disneyworld. Just something to check out! 2 years ago we used his plan and ridemax. Both were great. I prefer Bret's only because it is looser. With ridemax, I worried when one ride shut down how it would affect my whole day. With Bret's lists of rides, it was easier to plan around. But I loved both! It is just something to think about if you still have TGM.
