RideMax Users Thread (FAQs Linked in First Post!)

I just bought a year subscription because we are making 2 trips- one in may and one in Sept. Wait until your close because May hasn't opened up yet anyway.

Woohoo! I finally found what looks to be the official RideMax thread. Can't wait to read through it. I'll hopefully be a pro by October.

Thank you! I purchased it about the 18th of March and I knew May hours were up when I bought it. I was just guessing it would add a new month at the beginning of the month. Wow, two more weeks of waiting. I will try to make it.:rotfl2:

i posted earlier that ridemax recommended my brother do some other things before getting a tsm fast pass on monday, april 11. the logic behind that concerned me and concerned me as to the validity of ridemax. i didn't really have time, other than that post, to investigate that further. now, ridemax is also telling him to get a test track fast pass before a soarin' fast pass on tuesday, april 12. i have the same ???? feeling.

i am a wdw newbie, so questioning the experts at ridemax seems presumptuous. still, everyone says that tsm and soarin' fp go first. i don't understand why ridemax is saying to do other stuff before snagging those. also, my brother will be there on a very busy 2 days. i'm concerned if he follows ridemax's advice, that he won't get the fastpasses at all (he'll only be there 2 days).

i do understand that it seems like a time-waster to stand in line for a tsm fp for 45 minutes in order to avoid standing in line later for tsm. but, those fp go so fast. idk if he'll get on the ride if he doesn't do that mad tsm fp rush first thing at rope drop or at least ride it via standby at rope drop (neither of which ridemax recommends). with this similar advice about soarin', things just seem fishy.

i know that he can re-run ridemax several times to get the order of things that he is most comfortable with, but his day is not the only thing i'm worried about. i am most concerned with the validity of ridemax. i know lots of people love it, so i'm just hoping someone can clue me in that ridemax is "right" and that it "knows what it's doing." i really want to use ridemax on my upcoming may trip, but this unique way of NOT getting soarin' and tsm fp is worrying me. please advise!

Occasionally, the Test Track FPs run out faster than the Soarin' FPs, so there's a strong possibility that's the case here. With the TSM situation, what is it telling him to do before getting the FP? If it's not too long after rope drop (I'd say within the first hour) he will probably be fine. If you really want to get that first, start your plan 15-20 minutes later and use the block of time to get the FP.

here's what it is telling him to do instead of getting the tsm fastpass next monday:

9:05 AM Runner Get Tower of Terror FASTPASS
9:16 AM Muppet Vision 3-D Streets of America
9:49 AM Send Runner to Get Toy Story Mania FASTPASS
9:57 AM Runner Get Toy Story Mania FASTPASS
10:04 AM Backlot Tour Streets of America
10:51 AM Free Time
11:40 AM Lunch
12:00 PM Send Runner to Get Rock 'n' Roller Coaster FASTPASS
12:10 PM Runner Get Rock 'n' Roller Coaster FASTPASS
12:20 PM Free Time
5:50 PM Toy Story Mania (use FASTPASS) Pixar Place
6:18 PM Tower of Terror (use FASTPASS) Sunset Boulevard
6:45 PM Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (use FASTPASS) Sunset Boulevard

please let me know what you think of this plan. even if he will probably still get a tsm fp this way, i don't understand why ridemax would instruct him to risk it. the benefit of risking it won't be outweighed by any gain if he doesn't get that fp and doesn't get to ride it at all. why doesn't it tell him to do the safe thing and get tsm fp 1st? he will still get a tot fp later, as they don't run out quickly like tsm. to sum up: what up with ridemax?

Ridemax is sending you for your fastpass after the rush of RD has gone. You will still be able to get a FP at 9:49 but it won't be as many people in line therefore making you touring time more optimal.

The OP is right if you are really feeling strongly or just love the rush of TSM (which I do ) Then you can set your tour plan to start later and go with the rush to get your FP. Then just work them into you plan when you have a space.

Is the plan set to slow? That might be one hing that can be adjusted. It might also be that way so it won't mess with the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster FPs. Let's say he gets a TSM FP right at rope drop. Chances are the return time will be more than to hours away, so he'd have to wait until two hours to get a FP for ToT. Then, he might have to wait up to another two hours after that to get a FP for RnR, at which point those might be gone. Does that make sense? Have him re-run it a few times if he doesn't feel it will work. Otherwise, I would trust RM. If he ignores it, I say from experience, it will definitely screw everything else up.

We were at DHS at Rope Drop on Thursday, March 31st. Now it was raining cats and dogs and storming, so I'm sure things were not "as usual". We headed to TSM first. The Fast Past lines were kind of nutty. Definitetly not 45 minutes, but longer than the ride. We went on the ride, waited maybe 10 minutes? And then got Fast Passes after. So that probably put us at Getting the FP's around 9:20/9:25 I'd say? Somewhere in there. And our FP Return time was 11:10. Again, that might have all been very different because of the weather, but just some further info.

Oh, and we did not have a RideMax plan for that morning - we were supposed to be at Blizzard Beach. We had only an evening planned for DHS (and no TSM), but the kids loved RnRC so much, and the weather changed our plans, so we went back. Glad we did - TSM is pretty cool and we got to do that 2x, RnRC 3x and ToT once (that's all we wanted, didn't like it!)

I was checking out this thread to see if I wanted to use "RideMax" based on this it is a no. Not just because I would do TSM first but because that is a lot of running - :scared1: - The runner has to run all the way down sunset blvd to get FP for TOT (of all things) then all the way to Muppet Vision - in 10 minutes! yikes - I don't want to be that commando.

Please keep in mind when ridemax says "runner" they are talking about one person in your family/group who is happy to go a bit farther as the rest of the family moves on to the next attraction and then they all meet up and enter together.

Aslo there are several way that ridemax will set up you touring plan each different. Slow pace allows for less crossing the park but may add a few more minutes to the total touring plan. Regular has more crossing the park but will have you standing in line less minutes in total. There is the option to have a FP runner go or the whole group changeing how the touring done.

Additionaly Ridemax has a great refund policy so it doesn't hurt to have a look at it and then make a decision based on who the plan come out for yourself
If you use the software and find it wasn't worth the cost, simply let us know within 30 days from the date of purchase why you weren't satisfied, and we'll refund your full subscription cost and remove you from our subscriber list.

Is there a droid app that allows transferring saved plans? I'm not too keen on carrying around a sheet of paper with our daily plans.

I know all about the strategy, back in 2003 I think I was one of the first people to post the Strategy:

:thumbsup2

I think I will save my money I know the parks pretty well and have my own plans, don't want to stick to a sheet of paper, and drive my family nuts :)

I am sure I will find other ways to drive them nuts.

I don't think there is, but you can email them to yourself as an attachment and access them that way.
