RideMax Users Thread (FAQs Linked in First Post!)

Its definitely worth the money. I loved being able to customize the rides and times of day I was at the park. There really isn't anything comparable. Touringplans are good but not so individually customizable (hows that for a phrase?) as Ridemax. It also helps show you how much time you will waste in line if you get started at noon instead of rope drop. Its good to play around with it in advance just to get a feel for that.

Thanks so much for all the feedback. Off I go to subscribe. We used TGM last year and although we never stood in line I felt a bit "stressed out" in trying to run everywhere before everyone else (Soarin' at rope drop, FP for safari in AK). I think I will like having a straightforward list that I just follow and I'm not so stressed out about "doing it" right.

That's exactly what we liked about RideMax when we went for New Year's. We never had to stress about what we would do next or how to best do things. I like hot having to make decisions on vacation. BTW, we were able to do Space Mountain, Buzz, Astro Orbiter, Small World, Philharmagic, Swiss Family Treehouse, Jungle Cruise, and Thunder Mountain all before 10am on the 27th of December. Then we had a break that RideMax had given us so we stopped, got a coffee, and watched all the people who were just arriving.

Okay... I'm using Ridemax for the first time this trip, but there seems to be a bug with the plan its giving me for May 3rd at DHS.

It has us getting a fastpass at 0905 for TSM and then it gives us "free time" until 2:27pm when it tells us to go see Little Mermaid. :confused3

This makes no sense... it has all of the rides and attractions scheduled for the late afternoon with nothing scheduled for the morning or early afternoon except to get the fastpass for TSM.

What am I doing wrong?

Also... why no ridemax plans for Sunday?

Nevermind... I found the answer on their website.

I just got Ridemax. I had the same problem and figured it out. If you schedule too little to do, it just gives you lots of "free time". It will purposely span out your day so that your last ride is at the end of your day. So, the solution is to add in more of your own breaks or additional rides. It just means you don't have enough to do!

I have used Ridemax exclusively for the last two years and for our upcoming May trip. We have found it to be invaluable and it has been right on for the wait times. That said some of the plans do not seem like what you are used to if you have used other plans.

Make sure you utilize it fully by putting in ANY breaks you want, even for shopping or character greets. I like it much better than all the other planning tools, it is fairly simple and straightforward. I used it, it worked and much like I interact with my employees I don't care for the why or reasoning behind the decisions that takes too much time. Just get the job done and for us Ridemax has worked wonderfully.

Yeah...I just subscribed this morning and some of the plans seem so different than what I am used too.

I had some weird Free time too. :confused3 Plus they don't seem to use enough FP's for my taste. Not sure what I'm going to do.

I also am trying it for the 1st time and am getting some odd free time breaks where I don't want them. I will have a break for lunch and it will have nothing for 2 hours after the break. :confused3

You don't have enough attractions to fill in all the time. So, either add more attractions or make your ending time earlier :goodvibes

If you have extra free time, you can grab FPs during them. For example, I want to ride Splash and Big Thunder 2x each, but it has me riding them both in a row, which I don't want to do. So, I made a new plan where I ride them once and mom gets me 1 FP for each while I'm riding (she doesn't ride, so no need for her to get a FP). Then, during our free time I'll ride again.

There is running around, I don't want you to get the wrong idea. If, for example, your group is set to ride RnR at 9 and you need to get a FP for TSM at 9:05, you will have to go while your party is in one area. Honestly, I probably run a lot more than I used to but it does help us to ride the biggies w/out as long a wait in line and so it's worth it.

Let's say you want to go for just a few hours, will it tell you if you try to put too many rides?

How will it tell you? Will it say how many rides to remove, to move up the ending time, which rides to remove? Or just say "Try again"?

I am new to Ridemax. I was looking at it's best park days to compare them to TGM and UG and one day in June, it has all the parks as "avoid". Weird.

OK, I looked at the Disney World Calendar, and this is why all those parks are "avoid" that day. Magic Kingdom has Morning EMH, Epcot has Evening EMH, Disney Studios has Fantasmic that evening, and that is the "Gay Day" at Animal Kingdom. All of these increase crowds. However, according to the Unofficial Guide Crowd Calendar, your best bet is Animal Kingdom. Avoid MK and Epcot.

It says "There are more attractions in your schedule than will fit in the allotted time. Please adjust your schedule and try again." Then, just remove your rides one at a time until a plan can be made, or make your ending time later/start time earlier.

How did you find the parks to avoid? I just purchased Ridemax and first thing, it asks me my park and date. I have seen where it gives park recommendations. Would appreciate knowing how you did that. Thanks!

ETA: Just found it - never mind! Thanks, anyway

I just found it today myself. When you open up Ridemax, click on "Tips & Hints". It will open up a webpage where you can click on the best days.

I am not liking what Ridemax is doing for DHS. Keep in mind I am a 1st timer for WDW but even "I" know this is crazy.

I told it we wanted to ride TSM twice.

It has me going to TSM for a FP and then riding it. Then it put in free time until 10:33 at which time I should ride TSM again using the FP. We are talking riding TSM at 9:07 and then waiting until 10:33 to ride it again with nothing in between. :confused3 I "get" that you have to tweak some, but give me a break. Why would it not have me go ride TOT in between or something?

I am off to tweak some more.......

I shorted our day and it fixed it. It moved Star Tours up.
