RideMax Users Thread (FAQs Linked in First Post!)

Would really like to know how accurate wait times / walking times.

I found the wait times to be very accurate for our trip in June 09. The walk times we had set on Normal. With three children, 9, 8 and 7, we found we should have used Slow. You would think that with older children, you could choose Normal, but we found t wasn't good for our group.

Wow, there are a lot of pages in this thread and I'll admit I only read the last few so I'm sorry if this has been covered. I get that I have to download the program, but do I have to choose my (gasp) work computer or home computer, OR, can I save the program to a flash drive so I can use it in either place? I'm not real computer savvy so please forgive my ignorance. We leave on February 8 and I'm not real thrilled with the crowd numbers touring plans is giving me so I'm hoping Ridemax will help us navigate the crowds better.

I can't help with the download/ saving question so I will leave that to others. However Ridemax will help with the crowds. It is important to get to the parks early, avoid Extra Magic Hours Esp. in the morning and to follow your plan. It is most importanmt to stick to the plan at least up until noon. The plan made a big difference for us both in July and in early December.

Download & save to one computer, then email Mark & he will tell you what to do to save it to a second one. Two is the limit.

I got back on Sunday after our first trip using Ridemax. I'd used the Unofficial Guide plans in the past, but the personalization aspects of Ridemax appealed to me. Loved it! We stuck to the plans pretty well, at least until the mid-day break. I think the most useful part of it was it helped me realize how much I could (or couldn't) fit into one day. I'll definitely use it again when we go back.

:thumbsup2 Yup, I try to do too much and Ridemax just tells me I have more in my day than my time will allow. I get cranky, but I start removing stuff and prioritizing. :lmao:

Does Ridemax support Sum of All Thrills at Epcot? If not, how have you incorporated it into ridemax? Thanks for all your help!

You just pick another day with the same expected crowd level and use that day to make your plan for the sunday. It worked very well for us.

I've been playing around with some schedules, while I wait for April hours to come up and in the Epcot tips and hints it says that there is an option to put in a block of touring time clockwise or counter clockwise. Am I missing something? I do not see this listed in the attractions choices at all. I see individual shows such as off kilter etc. but no touring block option. Can someone help me find it?

Just subscribing to this thread. We're using RideMax for our upcoming trip and I'm hoping it's as good as it seems!

They must have changed that option within the last couple of weeks. We used the program in early January and were able to put in 2, 3 or 4 hour blocks to tour the WS. I just checked and, as you write, no such option exists. You can circumvent that by selecting the time you want to tour and develop a plan that ends just before your tour time and one that picks up after. You may also want to email Mark and ask if the option is coming back. Enjoy the planning.

If the options are currently missing you can put a break in your plan for the amount of time you would want to spend in World Showcase. Then you decide what way to go and how fast you walk.

I agree if the options are not showing up might want to send Ridemax an e-mail to see what the change is about. May just be an error in the program that needs to be repaired.

I have just found this thread and haven't had a chance to read through yet.
We loved Ride Max the first time we tried it. My question is that I use it on our home PC, but it would be nice to have it on our laptop while at WDW for making changes. Can I move the software and type in the same authorization code there? Is the license good for my family's use or solely for 1 computer?

Thanks!

Those individual shows must get added when you are closer to the timeframe because January lists the shows, but February lists the WS time blocks. I prefer to schedule the time blocks so I will make sure to print my schedule for March early.

I got a new computer for xmas and just typed in the authorization code again. It worked fine. I think I read that you can add it to two computers but if you run into trouble, email them and they can help you.

That's correct--two computers using your original authorization code.

Thanks for the tips on how to put in the blocks.

You're probably right about that. I was using January dates for this week because they matched my crowd levels. I prefer the blocks too, since we're probably not doing shows and instead doing Kim Possible and just wandering through each country. I'm going to cut and paste into excel anyhow so I'll just have to remember to do that early (like I'd need a REMINDER - I can't think of anything but going to Disney!)

Yes they will be added as it gets closer. RM is fun to play with ahead of time, but you really need to run it as late as possible before your trip to get the last minute data. disney is always changing stuff around.
