RideMax Users Thread (FAQs Linked in First Post!)

yes! We just did the Fantasyland, Haunted Mansion, Pirates all by Noon. It was great. We have done this many times in the past but Ridemax helped with the order to do the rides. :)

I'm so happy to see this thread bumped! I'm going to order it about 5-6 days from now, so I have it through the end of our trip. I know September hours won't be in it yet, but I just want to start playing! I'm sure I will have tons of questions once I get it, so I'll be sure to ask on here!

Forget September, August hours aren't even in it yet.

I juts tested some of my July trial plans in my actual August dates and the times were fantastic!!!! I LOVE RIDEMAX!!!!!:love::love:

Any advice on how I can plan my day at Animal Kingdom on Sunday Aug 2, since you cannot plan on Sunday? Thanks

Just purchased Ridemax so trying to figure it out.

If we want to go to MK on Sunday, August 9, any suggestions what day I should use to plan?

Why does it give me free time as soon as I get to a park? If I add in another attraction, then ridemax says it can't make a plan because there are too many attractions :confused3

I will be in WDW exactly 90 days from today Sept 11th! YAY. I am anxoius to start playing with Ridemax (even though I know Sept hours arent up yet), but wondering when is a good time for me to purchase it? I will not have a computer or anything with me while on the trip, so I don't need it through the duration of my trip, just need it for the day that I'm leaving (which would be Sept 11th)...can someone tell me when would be a good time to purchase so that the membership carries me up to Sept 11th?

Using the Tips & Hints on RM, click on Which Days, Which Parks?. Take a look at a nearby date that recommends AK for that day and use that (also see if the dates have the same hours).

QUESTION: How much time does everyone alot for each meal:character (breakfast or dinner), CS, and TS?

If taking a hotel break, how much time should we take (including transit) to make it worthwhile?

Why would ridemax have me getting a fastpass for the ride in Norway? Seems like a waste of a fastpass time. Am I missing something?

I love playing with this program! Is there any way to split up the group for optimal touring. My husband wants to ride Tower of Terror which is not that important to me. I would love to figure out when he could ride it while the kids and I are experiencing a different attraction that he has no interest in.

We are days away from our vacation, and my husband is flipping out over the RideMax plans. :sad2: He DOES NOT want to be on a schedule, with me checking my watch and checking the schedule every minute. Is this what it would take to follow the plan? I have our MK and AK days planned and they look good to me! :thumbsup2 I think he's a bit upset that I've spent many hours doing this :surfweb: as well!

I guess my question is will I be watching the clock incessantly when I use a RideMax plan? Or, can I go by the ride sequence without staying on the plan minute by minute?

Any advice from previous RideMax users?

Just popped on and thought I would take a stab at a few of the questions... we used Ridemax for the first time in May and loved it and will without a doubt use it again come next trip (which I am trying to talk DH into doing sooner than 2012 or 2013!)

Meals- if you can plan a CS meal BEFORE rush hour... so earlier or later than noon or 6pm, you wont have to stand in line as long. I would plan about 45 min and that was ample time. For TS, we planned about 75 min for non character and 90 min for character. That was usually generous. We had one breakfast it took the full 90 min to see them all, and another we were out in an hour. Most of the time ridemax had us having some break time right after our meals it seemed so we always figured if it took longer we were ok. We never ran over. As for breaks, i think it depends on where you stay. We were at WL so three hours was plenty at MK to take the boat back, swim and nap, and get back. For our DHS day i planned 4 hours and I think we were out 3.5.

MAelstrom in Norway- I have seen waits of 30-40 min for this ride so that may be why they suggest a FP. Our epcot day plan suggested to get a FP and then we had free time and the wait was short so we just rode it then. I found in the plans I ran that the Norway ride was the last FP it suggested collecting, so it didnt take away from getting one for one of the big rides.

HDJA- My DH was nervous about this too and not crazy about being scheduled to the minute. I will say that the first day or two I was watching my watch the first two hours or so of the plan and fretting about staying on time. I quickly learned that we got ahead every single day(sometimes by as much as 45+ minutes!) as we often had less walking time or the wait was shorter than predicted. We were then able to modify it a little and switch up the order of the non bolded attractions. I think the plan is most important the first couple hours of the day before it gets crowded. After that you can go more with the flow.

It will take some cooperation on your families side to follow a specific plan and bypass things you walk by. But mine were believers within a day when they saw how little we waited and how smoothly it all went. I think you can follow the plan without watching your watch and still be very successful so long as you dont get TOO far behind, or the wait times will go up. It will still prioritize your day well. Hopefully your DH will see the benefits though and be on board with you! I hope you have a great time!

I found we were watching our watches all the time - being "behind" or "ahead of "schedule". I loved playing with it prior to being at the park. And I liked some of te different suggestions that were made versus what I usually did or what was suggested on other touring guides. But quite honestly, I felt my knowledge of the parks and attractions helped make decisions that were sometimes better at the moment than what was being suggested. So I would say that for me I will run the guide for m next trips just to play and perhaps get an idea for rotation, but I didn't like the idea of being on schedule for my vacation either. I didn't like it all. I won't do it again. The last couple of days I went completely off schedule and had a much better time. But I go a couple of times a year and am not worried if I miss a particular ride - with a few exceptions - on a particular trip. If you don't go often, it will help ensure you get to do all you want.

We followed the sequence and did not worry about the times as long as we were there when the plan started. Although I checked occasionally just out of curiousity.

:)

I just bought it for our September trip, and am playing around with August dates similar to ours for each park. The only plan I have tried to create so far is for DHS on 8/26. We have two small kids (4 and 2) and two grandmas coming who can watch them while DH and I ride RnRC and ToT. So I don't really want to put those 2 rides into the plan, since we could squeeze them in whenever (and they are less important than the ride/shows for the kids), but I don't know how to work this. Do I just leave them off and assume we can get FP whenever we're near those rides and ride them when they're doing the HISTK playarea of something? I think Ridemax is cool but I'm a little overwhelmed!

OK, here's another specific question. I'm trying with 8/28 to plan an AK day. We have an 8 am ADR at TH, so I'm planning a 9-9:45 break in Asia to do the safari first (is this right?). I am trying to leave Expedition Everest off the list since just DH and I will do it, and I was thinking we could go while the kids are with grandmas in the Boneyard (they could stay all day). The only FP it has us getting all day is one for Dinosaur at 10:44 am. So can I just kind of assume we could get a EE FP right around 9, and probably be eligible for the Dinosaur one by 10:44? Then we could ride EE at 11 when it has us at the Boneyard, and ride Dinosaur when it has us doing it in the plan late afternoon? Did that make any sense at all?

If I put EE and Boneyard in it's too much, but since we really want to do them at the same time, I'm trying to make that happen. Help!

How can I make a plan using the mornig exxtra magic hours for the parks. when I put in the time it says the park is not open yet even tho it has early morning hours. I know it is best to stay away during that time but we are going in Aug. and since I heard it will be super hot, I really want to get as much done in the morning as possable. How can I make a plan for this?????
