RideMax Users Thread (FAQs Linked in First Post!)

And for a Sunday plan, just enter in a random day of the week and follow it?

For a Sunday plan, choose the park you are going to, note the hours and whether there is an EMH that Sunday. Also see if that park is recommended for that particular Sunday or not. THEN, find another day in the week that is similar or the same as those characteristics and use that day for your plan.

For example, you choose to go to the Magic Kingdom that Sunday, with evening EMH hours. It is not a recommended day to go, but you have it planned anyway. So, look through the week and find another day that has evening EMH and MK isn't recommended for the best park. Use that date for your plan.

Make sense?

What I did was plan a 9-12 plan with lots of attractions for the morning. Then I did another plan that started around 1 or so after lunch... if you don't want the break. This worked well for us. :)

Every time I do a Ridemax plan, it schedules at least a 2-4 hour break in our afternoon or even after having only 3 rides scheduled in the morning. Is there anyway to make a plan without such a long break, or even no breaks at all?
You either need to add more attractions or change your end time. If you have a 10 hour park day scheduled but only 6 hours worth of attractions, well, you're going to get a 4 hour break, kwim? Change your end time from 10:00 pm to 7:00 pm, or something like that, and see what you get then.

Having just gotten back and useing RM for the first time, it was worth the purchase. We are a family of 5 and I had it set on normal. I wish I'd had it on slow. It was difficult to keep all three children on task and focused first thing in the morning. I've used TGM, touringplans and now RM, I'd say RM was easily the best one, especially for "tell me what to do next" type planners. If you want to learn HOW to plan, TGM is better. But if you just want someone to tell you where to go, what to do and when - RM.

Anyone have a guess for when August will become available? Its been fun playing around w/ the software but I'm ready to get down to business :donald:

If August hours arent up yet, then I would assume that September hours are a ways away huh? (I guess it would help if September hours were listed on the actual Disney site - :rotfl2:)

So, heres my main question though, how do you pick what parks you are going too (so you can make your ADR's) if you don't know which best days to visit yet (if Ridemax doesn't have those days posted yet)?

If you go to www.touringplans.com you can get their recommended days months in advance. I dont know if they are exactly the same but touring plans has great info and they seem to be right on. I used touring plans months in advance, then made my ADR's and only recently did I buy RideMax and it all came together nicely.

The recommended days are up (September's too) They're under the tips button. I made my spread sheet based on my days, and Ridemax recommendations plus a few of our own (eg first park has to MK and last park has to be Epcot). Once I laid out the week, then I started looking at restaurants. I made a flow sheet for when I was making my ADRs. (eg. Sat am Epcot so Le Cellier or Coral Reef or Garden Grill) If I couldn't get the first choice, I'd go to the second. Then the first choice goes to another Epcot clot.
We do am's and pm's with afternoons at the pool. Since we get a hopper park choices are more flexible. I made my ADRs 90's out so it was easy. I got all my choices (except Le Cellier at lunch instead of dinner) and all was set!:cutie:

Thanks! Your report is very encouraging to this first time user! We'll have a group of 6 going in August, so I think I'm going to need all the help I can get. At least all 6 of them (including the kids) acknowledge I'm the Disney planning guru in the family and if they want to do lots of stuff with minimum hassle, they need to follow me!

Many thanks to all who've posted results, and tips here. Last year we used touring plans from UOG, and were quite successful with them. This year, however, we'll be spending 10 days in the parks. As a result, we're really looking for a bit more leisurely pace, spread out over a couple of days. I started by hacking up the UOG plans, but by the time I got them spread out over the number of days that I want to spend in the parks, it didn't seem that they really made sense any more. Ridemax looks to be the perfect solution. It will allow me to customize the plans to fit the number of days we'll be in each park, and to look at different possibilities to see what will work best for us. I'll be sure to post back in September, after we get back, to let you all know how it worked out for us.

I'm working on plans for Hollywood Studios, and the problem I'm running into is that everytime I put in Indiana Jones or The Lights! Motors! Action! shows, it tells me that the shows aren't within the time that I'm in the park, except, I have the times set from RD to close. Any ideas of what's going on?? :confused3

I just looked and there is no link for September?!? Am I missing something?

What day specifically are you doing that for? Maybe someone else could replicated it and prove it's a glitch - you can always e-mail RideMax and tell them - they'll get it fixed if it is.

I don't think you need to put in a September date to see September recommended days - just use the current month calendar, but then click on the Tips box and it will take you to the website where you can see the recommended days link - I haven't looked but I'm assuming that goes out until September like the PP said.

September recommended days aren't there yet - only through August.

Is there any way to get the program to go for a Fastpass first. It seems to always have me ride something first, then get a FP, even if it is the same ride. I've always found it better to get the FP first so that my return time is as early as possible. Is it really better to ride first?

Wow! Is it really possible to do all of FantasyLand plus HM and BTMR w/ breaks arriving at RD and leaving at 1pm in June? It is a non EMH day. I just purchased RM because I am stressing about waiting in line with a 3 year old and so far I like what I am seeing and wondering if it is too good to be true!
