I see that Ridemax says you do not need it for January but with all these AP out there one can not help to think that January may be busy month at Disneyland. Any thoughts Thanks

I would think that Sundays will probably still be busy. If Remember, Dreams Come True is showing on weekends, then Friday through Sunday nights will be busy.

Other than that, though, there are no special promotions to attract the locals, so I think the weekdays will probably be pleasant.

(As far as Ridemax goes, if you absolutely want to do as many rides as possible, it is probably useful, but I found that when we used it, we really spent precious little time just sitting back and enjoying the ambiance, which is too bad. I know the basics of crowd flow, so if I had it to do over again I think I might have chosen not to use it--and we went around the 20th of June, when the parks were considered to be packed.)

I like to use Ridemax to make the best use of chunks of time. For example, on Wednesday, my ODD's 7th birthday, we have an appointment at BBB mid-morning, lunch at AG in late morning, and a PS for Pat E. Cake's mid-afternoon. I've used RideMax to come up with the most rides we can fit in with the least amount of waiting pre-BBB in the FL vacinity, between lunch and the birthday celebration over at DCA, and againfor the late afternoon back at DL after Pat E. Cake's. (By the way, yes I know I am crazy. ;)).

I'm using RideMax on this day since it's the one day my DS and DN will be joining us. Since it's my DD's birthday and my niece will be there, I want to do the extras on that day, but I still want my DS and DN to experience as many rides/attractions, as well.

On Thursday, however, our only time committment is A PS at BB for lunch. I've half heartedly made a few RideMax plans for this day, but don't expect to necessarily use them. The rest of our trip is still hard to plan since I don't know if my DDs will want to go on the roller coaster type attractions now that they are both tall enough or still prefer the milder rides. So, I really like that I can customize some new plans on Thursday night. I do wish they had finished up the iPhone app they've been hinting at, though.

I bought a subscription to Ride Max this weekend. I have been playing with it a bit and plan on going this weekend. So, we shall see how it does.

I am one of those socal AP people that goes and ruins it for everyone and have been about 45 times over the past 2 years of having our passes. So I pretty much have the routine down on how to get quite a bit done in the least amount of time. I would say so far, the software differs with me a bit but overall it seems very good.

I just got back from my Thanksgiving trip to DL. I used Ridemax on the day after Thanksgiving and it was AWESOME!! While it turned out that there were hardly ANY CROWDS for the Thanksgiving weekend, it did help in organizing what rides to ride and when. I followed the plan created by RM mostly in the morning and for when to get Fast Passes. Once it got around noon time, I used the touring plan loosely. For instance, the plan said I should ride Peter Pan late at night. However, after riding some of the Fantasy land rides in the morning (from 8:30 to about 10:30am) the plan said I could break for 2 hours. Well instead of taking a break, we jumped into the Peter Pan line, which ended up with only a 30 minute wait!! I think RideMax is FANTASTIC and is great for crowded days or just for planning your day. So I say GO FOR IT!!

Even for non crowded days I have found RideMax helpful in avoiding the "what do you want to do now" that drives me crazy. It doesn't allow for much soaking in the atmosphere time though as previouly stated.
