Ride vs. show for FP

We've only in the past used FP for rides. I see with FP+ you can also pick from shows. I would like to know if using FP+ for a show is a good choice or really not as necessary because the shows seat so many at one given time. I would like to here experiences. Does the FP just get you in sooner or allow for "better" seating. I am aware of the Fantasmic evening when they weren't scanning the mb for FP+ already and everyone was going through.

See the link in my signature for my take, including how FP+ works for the various shows.

I have FP for F! coming up, and it is my understanding that it allows you to show up later bceaust you have seats held in a decent section. People show up for F! hours in advance, and you are just waiting, then just sitting for a while. The show is worth it IMO, but having a FP for it is great for me!

I am not so concerned about Fantasmic because we are doing the fantasmic dining package and have several times and even though the seats are off to the side they've always been fine for us.

I've opted to do Nemo and lionking at AK because as far as rides go for FP+ I only had 2 that were must do's and I know my parent's enjoy going to the shows so that will be good for them.

I'm more concerned with HS and Indiana Jones or Lights Action Motor Car show. From what I remember Indiana Jones seemed like a long line but the other we've walked right into both times we've seen it.

I wonder about lines now with the new system. Are stand by lines in general longer than times associated with crowd levels or is stand by the same?

I did check out the link that was given and read it. I agreed with most of the A's and honestly they had already been picked. I just don't know what is transpiring now with waits and that's where my questions stem from.
I have read on 2 separate sites about crowd levels for Dec when we travel and both are similar in that it is below average but differ in how much. I'm just trying to plan appropriately to give ample time for the parks for our families needs.
