Ride vehicle seating configurations

I’m sure those things happened, it’s just so strange that nothing like that has ever happened to me on this type of ride - specifically on the four-seaters Snow White, Pinocchio, Alice.

I have a theory as to why: I’m a solo male.

I can imagine that perhaps as an official or unofficial policy, they don’t seat parties with single males. It’s not like I suspect every solo male is a creep, but I can see how it’s best for everyone involved just to avoid even the potential awkwardness.

Which is probably a good thing. If my two young daughters were riding Snow White alone, I guess I wouldn’t them to put some random middle aged dude in the cart with them. That would be weird.

Or maybe I just look really unfriendly so they never bother to try to seat anyone with me. 🤣

Solid theory. I'm just a harmless looking mom with 2 teen boys. 😆

I've never had people put into the same Fantasyland cars as me or had to share a row in Pirates, but maybe that's the single male theory at work. 😄 I wouldn't mind if they added someone to my row in Pirates, so many times the boat is all full of people and there's me by myself taking up a whole row. It would actually be less awkward if I was sitting with someone, especially at the end where everyone in line can see your boat as you're waiting to get off. 😄

We've been on Pirates as a party of 2 and they added a single to us, which was awkward as we are not small. We've never had anyone addeed on a Fantasyland ride. I could understand if they did if in a seperate row. They have on Pooh.

Funny story, we were getting on Haunted Mansion and the spiel is 1-2-3 people per vehicle. We had an odd number and were paired up, with one person on their own. She climbed in her buggy, and the person (spoke little English) behind her got in also. (They were a party of 4, so put 3 in 1 cart and he joined her.).

You might warn her she may have to ride single in a seat in a case where Mom/Dad has to ride with the 5yo, but she will be right in front or behind them (example: Space Mountain, Incredicoaster, Smugglers, etc...)

In the fantasyland dark rides where there are only 4 per car (in 2 rows) would my 5 and 8 year old be allowed to sit together in a row with a parent behind them in the next row but same car? Then the other parent and toddler could go alone in the next vehicle.

I'm probably overthinking all of this 😆

Or would the 2.5 be allowed on a lap on some rides? I'm sure the CMs deals with this all the time.

When my daughter was 2.5 she rode on my lap all the time. As long as the bar can go down (like on the fantasyland dark rides) or seatbelt on over both of you (like on dumbo) it was never a problem.

They will make a 2 year old sit down on the seat on any ride that has a seat belt or safety bar.

You can hold on the lap on the boat rides like Small World, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Storybookland Canal Boats.

Yes, or just cram the 2 year old between you and one child and have dad ride with other child.

🤷‍♀️ I was just sharing our experience. My child is tiny but was obviously 2 and no one asked me to sit her on the seat. I would have if they asked. You never know what the CM will say, they all seem to make up their own rules and it’s irritating that it’s not consistent.

I agree. It is annoying that it isn't consistent. It's often kind of comical too, when they try to make a baby sit on the seat. I've seen that happen too
