Ride themes that you are surprised aren't more prevalent?

I was thinking that there are a few ride themes I'm surprised aren't used or at least more prevalent. Using WDW as a guide. There

Mary Poppins always comes to mind. I know they came out with a ride design for UK in Epcot but it was postponed. ( I don't count the carousel)
Pinocchio ( they had or have at DL and Paris, not sure about Tokyo)
Incredibles (at DL but not WDW)
Robin Hood (I'm biased here because it was my favorite as a kid, I realize most may not care)
Dalmatians
Lion King (ride, not show) (DL and Paris announced right?)
Jungle Book
Bambi (might be hard to do this one, but the Imagineers are creative!

I am just listing more classic themes. I understand Incredibles is newer. I think Inside Out could be pretty interesting too as well as Moana and some others.

Turning Red. People on the liberal end of the spectrum would think it is promoting conservative ideas.

Box Office Bomb. Not relevant to the theming most likely.

To be fair, it was not a "box office bomb" as it was never released to theaters at all - it was straight to Disney+. It was generally not that popular though that it should have a ride. I could maybe see it in the Asian parks, but still more of a meet & greet.

I am surprised that there isn't anything based on The Lion King. It is generally so popular!

The one I would personally want to see would be some Big Hero 6 love! I like that they redid that area at California Adventur4e, but it's still just a food area - how about a ride, guys? Actually, my favorite would be Atlants, but I don't think it's popular enough. BH6 is a more realistic choice.

I think it would be perfect for failure land. Put it in there next to Figment.

Movies are still looked at by referring to their profits by box office take. Regardless of in a theater or not.

It was considered a profit failure by all measures.

Pretty easy to look up

They were releasing all Pixar movies on D+ to boost subscriber numbers. That was the preference over a theater release at the time. This is also pretty easy to look up.

All of yours plus my family thinks there should be a Brother Bear attraction in Canada. The moose in that movie were so typically Canadian and we all fear seeing one on the highway.

No, direct-to-video or streaming movies do not have a "box office take" as they were never released in theaters, thus no tickets were sold (it did have some very limited international releases). While Turning Red hasn't really gained a lot of popularity, it did have high viewership when released. The trick is to whether or not that translates to "profit" is questionable of course. Ah, those crazy, covid times!

I agree. I am surprised there isn’t more 101 Dalmatians representation in the parks. My daughter is 9 and that was her favorite movie. Growing up, all her little friends LOVED it as well. She was a Dalmatian 2 years in a row for Halloween and we were one of a million families dressed up with that theme for Halloween when we went to the Oogie Boogie Bash that year. And that also goes for Lady and the Tramp and the Aristocats. I am not even talking about them needing rides but those movies aren’t really in the parks at all.

I would also say Hercules is never seen.

And while Aladdin has the flying carpets… they could really do so much more between the cave of wonders and the battle with Jafar at the end of the movie. That’s just begging for an E ticket attraction!

Wreck it Ralph is another really popular movie that’s not in the parks.

Wall-e. Another one with huge potential for Epcot in the space areas.

And I fully agree with UP! There is a strong contingent of people who love that movie and its following gets bigger every year.

I could do without an Up ride - I don't need to be crying while on vacation! 🥺

The Santa Clauses'. Could do a whole winter wonderland theme year-round. Treats, different hot chocolates, Toy shop, rides, year-round holiday shop, etc. Could lump in Jack's Nightmare before Christmas in the area. Aladinn - Genie roller coaster.
Secondary Peter Pan ride that's a roller coaster. There's Toy Story Mania & Buzz. Peter Pan could have 2 rides. It could happen.
The Emperor's New Grove. Wrong lever Kronk!

What surprises me most is that Disney doesn’t have any more non-IP creative ideas. Would love to see something new and non-IP related in the parks

Wall-E is all but absent from the parks. I think the message of the negative effects of consumptionism doesn't work with Disney trying to sell everything.

I don’t see Disney adding a lot of rides with themes they can’t also sell a lot of merch for.

Personally I’d like to see Wall-e in Tomorrowland.

I’m surprised there isn’t more Lion King.

How exactly? I heard just the opposite when the movie was out. FWIW, it was my daughter's favorite for a while. I would love to see them do something with it in Epcot China or Canada since either would work.

Just my usual nonsense. Nothing more, nothing less.
