I know that dh and I did this last time. He rode w/ her and then I came back and rode w/ her. My ? is...can you swap kids? I now have my oldest 9 and my middle who can both ride Indie but youngest can't. So can he ride w/ oldest and then we swap and I ride w/ middle?

Yes, but this is what we do:

Get 4 FP, DH can use 3 FPs and take the 2 kids that can ride and get a rider swap pass for you. Take the rider swap pass and your 4th FP and take both kids a 2nd time. The pass is good for 2 people.

Yes. The swap pass is good for one adult and one child and they don't check to see if it's the same or not for the child.

Oh, another way to go is get 2 FPs for Indy and 2 for space. And have each child go once.

Actually it's for two people. 2 adults can use them.

Ok, has that changed? I thought I remember it saying good for one adult and one child, but maybe it just said 2 people and I got it mixed in my head. I haven't been since Fall 2008.

It just says 2 people. We used it for 2 adults several times in June.

We will be at DLR starting Monday for a week with our 4.5 yr old son and my wife and I are wondering if we can use the Rider Swap for our situation, which is a little different than I've seen posted elsewhere on the boards.

We know that there are rides he won't want to go on or isn't tall enough for, but that we would want to. We would like to have one of us to wait in the line and enjoy the ride (by ourselves) while the other one does something with our son. Then using a Rider Swap card, we would switch and the other could ride (again by themself).

Thanks,
Brian

Yes, that's exactly how it works!

I was told this summer that if a child is tall enough for the ride then they won't give you a Rider Switch Pass. This happened to us at Space Mountain. We asked for a pass and they wouldn't give one to us even though our 7 year old was too scared to ride.

Its true, you must have a child that is too small to ride, not just that they don't want to ride.

Also when using the swap, you don't have to switch adults if one or the other doesn't want to ride. The same parent can go back on with the same kid if you want.

I think this may depend on the CM -- we didn't want to take DD1 (at the time) on TSMM, the CM gave us a swap pass.

We also got the swap pass before for Space Mountain when my oldest was very much tall enough to ride. In our experience, the CMs haven't even needed to see our child to give us the pass. I know a lot of people have said they want to see the child that's not tall enough to ride.

Ok let me see if Im understanding this correctly. Lets say you have 4 adults and an Infant. 2 adults can go ride and get a swap pass while the 2 other adults wait with the infant, then after the ride the Adults "swap". Is this correct?

Rats,I thought that we could swap Pooh and Innoventions for the People Mover. :sad1:

The way it works is that the 2 or even 3 Adults would wait in line, regular or Fastpass to go on the ride while someone waits with the baby. Then two people would use the Pass to go back on the ride with only a short wait. It's meant so that the person who needed to wait would have an opportunity to also go on the ride without waiting in a long line. On Space Mountain they would return through the exit, but I think on Indiana Jones they would go back through the FastPass line.

This could be done, but it's not what the use of the Rider Switch Pass was intended for.

I don't think you'll have any problems getting the rider swap with a 4.5 year old- even on the rides that he's technically tall enough for.

I got the pass at most of the biggies with a 4 year old. She was 42"- tall enough for just about anything- but no one questioned it. Of course everything is CM dependent, but it seems like most of the people who are refused swap passes have kids who are 7 or 8- not 4.

Four is still a very young kid. Whether or not they've hit 40", they are still little! I think that "young" factor plays into the mysterious CM equation!

Yes, exactly. We just did this yesterday on Space. 3 members of our group rode with FP. I got a Baby switch pass. Then DD11 and I used it by going through the exit. Worked great! BTW I did show them the baby but I don't think that particular CM cared. (The entrance to Space is pretty far away from the waiting area).

If you use the Rider Switch (it doesn't say Baby or Child) on Space make sure you go the left when you get to the 2 exit lines. We went to the right first and had to go back. You will be entering on the same side as the other riders.
