Ride seats

Can anyone guide me towards a site or thread here that shows the ride seats. I have had 2 knee replacements and I can't bend them that much. The new Seven Dwarf Mine ride in WDW killed my knees last year and I would like to know which ones I should stay away from in DL/DCA. I'm not tall by any means but the SDMR was so tight it was very, very uncomfortable even though I love roller coaster and have never had trouble with any of the others. I'm 5' 2", and Pooh sized but have never had trouble with any of the other rides at WDW until the SDMR. For example, the swing ride in DCA looks tight, is it? I love the rollercoasters and daring rides (Love HTOT). Any suggestions, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know of any sites with photos, but I would recommend steering clear of Matterhorn at DL. The ride vehicles are uncomfortable (to put it mildly) and hard to get in and out of quickly (and CMs need you to load and unload as quickly as possible).

This is what I was looking for, thank you for the advice. It would be the one ride I was really looking forward to riding since they have nothing like it at WDW. Can anyone comment on California Screamin' and the Carsland rides? Its another one I was looking forward to riding?? Is it safe to assume that the slower rides (the originals) like Dumbo, Snow White Scary Ride, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion are still safe? I rode the ones that are in WDW last year without problems. I'm assuming that Pooh ride, the ones in Bugsland are OK?

Can you ride Test Track in Epcot? RSR uses the same/very similar vehicles. You do have to step down to get into the car, but from there it's fairly easy to get in and out. Screamin has similar vehicles (at least they seemed similar to me) to Rock n Roller Coaster in DHS.

Is the problems with your knees that you have trouble bending them to a 90 degree angle or sitting almost flat or have trouble stepping up/down? Some folks have reported having trouble in Space Mtn (another step down into the car and then it's like sitting in a normal chair). Another one that might be tough is Astro Orbitor (depending on the issues with the knees). Matterhorn is definitely tough on the knees, back, bottom...you name it because it's very rough/bumpy.

The original rides should be fine; the one that Pooh-sized folks most commonly have problems is Mr. Toad, but there is a example ride vehicle outside the attraction you can try. Dumbo is the same/similar as at MK, so if you can ride it there, you should be okay at DL.

Yes, I can ride Test Track so RSR is possible (And I did ride RnR at WDW so CS should be OK too.
YAY) I think SpMtn should be OK, it actually is not possible at WDW but the one at DL looks feasible Astro Orbiter is out for me, never wanted to try it so its OK. So sad about Matterhorn, nothing like it in WDW. I can bend my knees but not have something bumping them is the problem. I don't go on unless my daughter is there to help me get in and out so that part is OK, we've done it all at WDW. IASW for example, its very low but she helps me get in and out so its OK.

What about Roger Rabbit Spin? Is that a tight fit, I've been looking forward to trying that one too. And the swing thing in DCA, is that a tight fit? (Don't know if I want to try that since your legs are left swinging that, don't know if my knees can take that position for long...

I think Roger Rabbit is okay...it's not that there is anything really odd about the ride vehicle. I think it's mainly a matter of whether there is enough space between the seat and the front of the vehicle for your knees to bend comfortably. If you Google Roger Rabbit Car-Toon Spin vehicle you'll see plenty of pictures...hopefully they'll give you a sense of whether it can be done comfortably or not for you.

How do you do on stairs?
Some of the rides mentioned have and alternate loading/unloading area that eliminate having to climb and descend flights of stairs that go over the track area. Those alternate l/u areas give you more time to get into or out of the seats.

Do you use a cane to get about?
Most CM's will ask if you have problems with stairs and let you use the alternate loading area. Most of the alternate l/u areas are slower to get onto a ride but it can really save your knees.

Another thought: the Nemo subs have an alternate viewing room, as does the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk Through. So you wouldn't have to deal with any stairs there, especially since getting in and out of the submarines can be difficult.

Nemo won't be a problem because I had NO intention of going on it, claustrophobic here! Happy to know there is an alternate viewing area, I had read about it but did not see about SBCW, that's new and very useful. You guys are great!

We took my mom (mobility issues) and youngest (fear of the dark) into the Nemo viewing room with great success. The room was large enough for us to spread out and was kept lit enough for our youngest to like it. I haven't tried the SBCW yet (youngest proclaimed it "not really a ride"), but maybe someone else can chime in with details.
