Ride refurbishments

Hello all

I havent been to universal for 10 years now, but ive just booked to go in september for 2 weeks, really looking forward to showing my childhood to the mrs!!

I'm a bit worried that when i go, other rides may be getting refurbed, i know hulk and kong should be open but my favourites were mummy, jurassic park, mib, spiderman.

Is there any risk of these being down? Or is there a schedule for such things?

Also not sure if i should go to disney or not as its another 300 quid....was always more keen on universal really but like the sounds of the star wars rides..

I don't know of any planned refurbs for September. Hulk and Kong should both be open.

Star Wars land/rides at Disney (beyond star tours which was already there) are not open until the 2019-2020 range.

Twister and Disaster are already gone, being replaced with two new rides for 2017. The only other possibility is dr doom's fear fall going down for replacement and that's only an outside chance based on faint rumors. The rumored KidZone/Nintendo switchup likely won't start until next year.

I'm also going in September. I haven't heard of anything, but they just closed a few things to start making new attractions that won't be open by September. I believe one is going to be Fast and Furious (didn't really pay too much attention since I knew it wouldn't be open in time). Universal doesn't seem to let us know as early as Disney does.

Universal doesn't seem to take rides out for rehab for weeks at a time like Disney does. The only ones that DO go down for seasonal maintenance are the 3 water rides ( Dudley Do rights, Popeye and Jurassic Park). They are generally down a few weeks each and they rotate as to when they are done

i've been reading so many other information sites, can't remember which one said what at this point.

but do remember that some were saying june 2nd for Kong.
i wouldn't bet my first born son on that but it would make sense.

on twitter was watching some of what was speculated on when hulk would be finished up.
some have said may/june.

once soft openings begin, we will read more about when it will open completely to the public.
my guess is just one of the many that you will see on the dis.

Any idea when Jurassic Park will be down this year? I have a young JP fan who dearly wants to go on that ride...

Should stay up and running when parks still have high crowds

Jurassic Park was closed Feb 15th till March 4th according to Universal calendar.

Thank you very much! I hope they are open too. Our last trip to Universal was the same week 2 years ago, and we were convinced Diagon Alley would be open by then... and we *just* missed it. We walked by the London area and the train station at IOA, but nothing was open. Just hoping we won't go through that again!
