Ride or Drive

When DS was smaller, (he is now 4) we took the car to the parks. Now that he knows what the buses and boats are, we take the transportation because I need my sanity! I liked having the car for a quick getaway, but either way is really fine with me.

This is us too! When DS was a baby and toddler we loved the quick get-away offered by having a car at the parks. But now he loves busses (boats and the monorail too, but busses are #1 for him). So now we pretty much ride everywhere. I do really prefer not hunting for a car at the end of the day and it also makes park hopping a lot easier IMHO...no "where did we leave the car?"

We used Disney Transportation in September of 07 and I would have given ANYTHING to have a car there!

The double stroller rentals were "only" $18 instead of $31 and every bus was jammed with an ECV and a ton of those HUGE double strollers. Now that the prices have gone up and lots of people will be bringing their own, or just buying one/two at Disney... I can't imagine how packed the busses will get.

We also missed ME back to the airport and had to take a taxi on our last day because we waited an hour for a bus at DTD and then it took FOREVER once we got on the bus until we got back!

Never again, at least not the busses.

Monorail, and Ferry.... I am definately still going to use!

The only downside to driving is that you usually have to walk A LOT further to/from the front gate. Just food for thought.... I have a 3 and 2 year old and they love the Disney transportation. When they were younger, we did drive some...but now it's much easier to take the transporation. They love the buses, monorail and boats! It's all "rides" to them. But, we also dont stay in the parks all day. No way would I want to deal with an extreemly over tired over stimulated 2 and 3 year old...NO WAY!
