Ride lines with stairs?

Yes BUT with the exception of, I think, Swiss Family Treehouse - any attraction that involves stairs also offers an alternative entrance/access.

My mom isn't good on stairs, and we found stairs at Splash Mountain, the train station right next to Splash, but I think that was it. The escalator up to TTA bothered her knees too, because it was so steep!

Schmeck - if your mom isn't using a mobility assistance device, next time have her get a GAC at City Hall. There really IS a non-stair access to Splash Mountain (about halfway through the line, you get detoured through the exit).

I plan on renting an ECV for part of the trip but I am going to try and go without it times so if I'm walking and there is a ride with stairs, will they let me go in another entrance if I explain I'm not suppose to walk stairs or will I have to get a GAC card for that? I'm not suppose to walk stairs whatsoever. I can physically do it but it puts me in a lot of pain (which will ruin the trip) and the doctor said I will damage my nerve even worse. Thanks

You should definitely get the GAC! We were there in April and NO amount of talking could get the CM to let me go up the ramp at the train station near Splash. I didn't have a GAC, so we gave up and didn't ride the train.

I can't do stairs, either. Some things that bothered me, but don't technically have stairs were getting in and out of the boats at Pirates, Small World, etc. And ESPECIALLY Jungle Cruise, and those are HUGE step ups and down. You have to step into the seat (which was no problem) then step down to the floor and sit in the sit. Getting out was harder as you had to step from the floor UP onto the seat, with nothing really to hold onto, then step out.

Good luck!

Thanks about letting me know about those rides. I wasn't going to probably go on Pirates but was hoping to go on the other two. I think I'll look into getting the GAC. It's not worth more pain to me. The hardest thing will be though feeling guilty because I look healthy and I'm in my 30s. I'm sure I will get looks. And on top of that I was going to get one for my dd who has sensory issues and we think autistic. Her days are unpredictable and depending on the day, I may or may not get her one. I really want to try and do this like everyone else. I just feel guilty.

If you haven't already, check ot the disABILTIES FAQs thread near the top of this board. It has one section about GACs.

My mom has some knee problems. The other issues she has run into are getting out of space mountain ride car and also waiting for parades. No sitting on the curb for her because she can't get back up easily. We have had people complain because she wants to be with us in the front and we always tell people that get behind us that she won't be sitting down but there are still some rude people put there.

I never thought about a GAC for her to avoid the stairs. I will have to look into that for her. Thanks!

I won't be able to sit on the curb either. I hope that doesn't bother people.
