I just looked at the height restrictions, just for giggles. My Ds is 18 months old and he is tall enough to ride The Barnstormer. :rotfl: There is no WAY.

If we go in December (27 months) he might (if he stays the same % he has been since birth) be tall enough to ride Kali.

Wow you must be one tall family! :) My ds was tall enough for Barnstormer at 23mos. He loved it. He also loves Kali, which he rode for the first time in September at 3-1/2. And people say he's tall for his age. ;)

pretty funny!

My youngest dd was not tall enough to ride Barnstormer till age 4! (Just barely, even)! She is almost 5 now, and still wouldn't be able to ride Kali. Poor thing really, really wants to get onto Soarin' but that is a looooong time away I guess! She also just hit 30 lbs. Her pediatrician-predicted adult height is around 5 ft or 5'1.

That said, my almost 9yo dd is just getting to Primeval Whirl height I think. Or soon. Her pediatrician-predicted adult height is around 4'11.

Where do you find the height requirements? Our dd is crazy tall, so I'm hoping she'll be able to ride plenty of rides in October.

DS was more than tall enough at 20 months when we were there. We decided to wait to let him ride, though. We saw a few places that you are supposed to be three to ride, as well. We'll probably let him ride this next time, but he definitely seemed too young that trip. I'm 5'8" and DH is 6'4", so I think we're going to have a tall one!

My DS just turned 2 and is tall enough to ride most rides(38 inches). I'm hoping he'll grow enough before Sept. to ride Soarin' which I think is 40 inches. I'm very glad he'll be tall enough to do Kali River. I think the only rides he and DD won't be able to do are Space Mt., Rock And Rollercoaster, Everest and Primevil Whirl(which does not sound like something I would do).

DD3 is 102cm (40in) bare foot. DH says he wants to take her on ToT, but I say no way.
I'm just glad we waited to go this year rather than last as she will get on so much more if she wants to! dd19mo is 78cm (almost 31in) just thought she would go on unresricted stuff (small world etc) and do shows and playgrounds. are there rides so can go on then?

My 6 year old rode barnstormer at 2 and first exposure to Kali he was 4 and tall enough (although was it there that there was a special seat he had to sit in? or was that a similar ride at a different park), this december we are hoping for the 2 more inches he needs to be able to ride RNR for the first time for his 7th birthday (just like sissy did). We are a short family, well about average anyway. My dd is just under 50% in height so I guess if my son does make it on RNR at 7 that still makes him below average. Oh well. I think I'm going to have to send him to Willy Wonkas taffy pulling room before we go just to make sure that he grows enough lol.

My poor kids might be tall enough by the time they are 7 LOL.. My 4 year old is barely 30 lbs and not near tall enough, my 17 month old only weighes 18 lbs and is short too... of course, me and DH were the shortest kids at our schools for years so I guess they don't have a chance LOL

My DD will be 4 in June. She is 42" tall and weighs 35 pounds! We are raising a stick apparently! Her predicted adult height is 6' since she was 36" at age 2. DH and I are both 5'7" so I have no idea where this is coming from!

She is so excited to ride ToT! She points to her height chart and says, "See, mom? I am big enough to ride 'The Tower''" We'll see what she thinks when she actually gets there and sees it in person. She is also very excited about riding "the log ride" (SplMtn) but she doesn't want to get poked by the briar patch.:lmao: :lmao:

The funniest was I think at Ds's 1 year appointment they measured him 3 times, then the doctor said he was taller than the 99 percentile. Ummm does that mean he is 100 percentile aka the tallest kid there is? I find that hard to believe. Doc said "here is the 99 percentile, here is Ds." LOL I am 5'9" Dh is 6'4" Doc says Ds will probably be around 6'5" or 6'6".

I does have a lot of disadvantages though. My one brother is 6'6" and when he was little people would glare at us like he was being bad or something and we would say "he is ONLY 2!" then they would be all apologetic. It is awful though because I know a lot of kids have developmental delays and I can't imagine people glaring at them like that, it is so mean. When Ds plays on stuff at the museum or somewhere that is for 2 years and under people look at me like I am breaking the rules.

that height prediction thing -

Looking at my kids height from birth to 24 months they were always over the 90th percentiles. As I said both me (5'4") and my dh (5'9.5") are right about average. People in both families are mostly average. And we were just like yeah right when they told us my kids were gonna be tall. Everywhere we went they were the biggest kids around. Then at about 2.5 they stopped growing as much. Now they are slightly below the 50th percentile. This has been very gradual. Has not been an effect of diet or illness or anything. It is just a result of their genetics catching up with them. Using the same prediction tool, using their height at 24 months, my kids were predicted to be dd 5'7'' and ds 5'11''. But with their current height, my dd has dropped down to predicted of 5'3" and my son has dropped to 5'9".

That happened with my oldest dd! She was predicted at 5'10. Well, I am 5'4 1/2 and her dad is 5'7. There ARE tall people scattered in the family, but I doubt our dd will make it to 5'10. Now she is 13 1/2, and about 5'4...already hit puberty so research says perhaps 2-6 more inches (Truly, I doubt the 6 inches!).

My shorter kids have always been the very bottom of the chart (or even below it) since infancy. I will be shocked beyond belief if they ever grow into tall adults. So while i don't put great stock in the "predictions" (especially the double-their-height-at-age-whatever one), I think barring environment, kids tend to follow somewhat predictable patterns. A full-term healthy baby who has a normal, healthy childhood and spends their entire infancy and early childhood above the 95th percentile in height will probably NOT end their growth at 5'1 ! (Ok, I bet there are rare examples of this but in a general way I meant!) Even doing the double-their-height-at-age-whatever formula, the ped gave it a 2 inch either way margin of error.

Well, that's just backwards! When you enter the height it should tell you what rides your child CAN ride, not CANNOT! :rotfl:
No kidding - how weird! I just entered a lower height, so more rides showed up on the list with their height requirement.

Dd is 2 1/2 and about 39" tall. She probably could have ridden the Barnstormer around 18-20 months also, LOL! Neither myself or Dh are super tall (5'6" and 6'1"), but my dad and brothers are 6'4" to 6'5", so I think that's where she's getting her height. She's always been at 99th percentile and above.

My DS just turned 2 and is tall enough to ride most rides(38 inches).

 My just-turned-two year old is 35" and I thought THAT was tall! He was tall enough to ride Barnstormer at 21 months, but is a big chicken so we didn't take him. (Kid is afraid of Dumbo.)

I think DS was about 18 months when he first went on...now at 2.5 he is tall enough (40" and 39.6 lbs) for ToT, which I would never allow! He wants to go on "the car ride" (Test Track) which he saw on one of our trip videos...we'll see about that one! He has been going on Fantasyland type rides since he was 3 months old so I guess he is used to it! He naps in Haunted Mansion!

Gosh - my DS is only 34 1/4 inches tall and he'll be 2 1/2 next month. DH is 6'1" and I'm 5'4". Hope he grows some before October! He loves adventure! (at 18 months old, he hated it when the rides were over - and he went on anything he could go on - including Haunted Mansion.)

We joke that my son will be in college before he can ride anything. He is in the 4th percentile in height at 19 months he was 29 inches tall and weighed 21lbs. He is tiny. He just out grew size 3 shoes. Its funny. My niece was 2 in January and she rode barnstormers on our trip earlier this month. She towers over him. He hands and feet are bigger than her 5 year old brother. We joke that if you use the dog theory of big paws- big dog she will be a giant. Its funny how kids grow. I just had a check up for my current pregnancy and when my doctor measured me he asked how big my 1st was I told him 6lbs 12oz. he quickly responded that we were not dealing with a 6 lbs baby this pregnacy. I am a bit nervous I liked my 6 lb delivery!!!
