ride comparison to Matterhorn bobsleds at WDW?

My DH doesn't really tolerate rollercoasters too well. He can tolerate Splash mountain's drop, and he tolerated BTMRR at WDW, but can't tolerate space mountain. Where do the bobsleds compare to these? Just wondering if he could give it a try, or if it would be too much for him.

I would compare the bobsleds to be more like Space Mountain at WDW than Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

My dad was similar, in that he had no problem on Splash, would go on BTMR, but would not go on Space Mountain at DL (and I like that version much better than the one at WDW) or the Matterhorn.

I wouldn't push your husband to ride it.

The ride vehicles are comparable to WDW space mountain but put those on a big thunder mountain track. You sit very low to the the ground. It is very tame in my opinion. Must remember that is was the first tube style rollercoaster and was built back in the 50's. I think it would be a perfect starter coaster for just about anyone. Plus you can sit two to a seat.

Yep, if you are looking for a WDW comparison, it's gotta be Space Mountain. Same style of ride, but it's not completely indoors.

My 5 year old son and I have been to BTMRR and Space Mtn at both locations and the Matterhorn. He was able to ride it when he was 3.5 years old because its height limit is only 35 inches. I can tell you that he thinks its pretty tame and boring and prefers the faster rides. Its true that there are some quick turns and because of that your husband should probably avoid it but its not very fast. Also, there are 2 sides to the ride and if you do go on it you want to avoid the right side as its a bit more bumpy. He may want to also avoid Indiana Jones. My husband has a heart condition and pretty much can no longer go on anything.

If he wants to try it, I would highly recommend the Fantasyland side. It is MUCH smoother IMO. The Tomorrowland side hurts my back and gives me a headache!

We haven't been there, so I am not sure what this means... the 2 sides? Do you enter the queu on the fantasyland side?

There are two lines - one side wraps around the Fantasyland side of the Matterhorn, the other line wraps around the Tomorrowland side. Sometimes only one side is open. We have been twice before when only the Tomorrowland side was open. If there is no line yet, you can just walk right up to the entrance and you will see that you can either go to the right or left. Hope that's not too confusing....I am having a hard time explaining it!!

Also, I just took DD2 on this ride, I felt that it would be tame enough for her to handle. I probably would not take her on the Tomorrowland side though.

To continue what Kayla's Mom was saying, there are two queues, and they both enter at the front. The Fantasyland side is just a bit smoother and a tiny bit longer. The Tomorrowland side seems to be bumpier and has a bit of a dip (fun).
