Ride closures

We just returned from the park and had a great time however I was a little disappointed in all of the ride closures, not just the ones down for refurbishment (big thunder, space mtn, nemo) but every major ride closed for some time to re-open later. We were loaded in Indiana Jones and had to exit. Splash mountain was down all morning on Tuesday. And we wasted time going over to DCA, waiting in fast pass line for Radiator Springs Racers, returned at come back time of 5pm to find it closed. When we checked after it reopened after 8:30pm the fast pass line was so long because they were taking everyone since closure. We couldn't wait and ended up wasting all that time to miss the ride. In my many trips to Disney this has never been such an issue. Is ride closure just a more common practice now? This also makes the parks very busy as the crowds are not as dispersed. We still had fun but it made for lots more walking and some frustration.

We are on our way home after spending the last 4 awesome days there.

I totally agree with you.
Splash mountain was down most of one day.
Husband and daughter had buzz close on them after standing in line. We came back to do Indiana one evening only for it to be down.
Walked clear across the park specifically to take monorail back to make son happy - only for it to be down.
Matterhorn was closed most of one day until 1pm making the line impossible after that

And it's happening in California adventure too.
Stood in line for muppets 3D only for it to close down on us.
California screaming was down part of the time we were there.

And most annoying, they close part of DCA for grad night so that we couldn't do monsters inc later in the day. That's not right.

I've been to world 3 times in the last couple years and that didn't seem to be as rampant there.

Was very frustrating this week.

Is it listed somewhere what nights they have grad night? I looked on the main schedule a few weeks ago and didn't see it.

Really?! What part and what time? I know where Grad Nights are posted; is this info there somewhere as well?
