Ride breakdowns?

Got evacuated from splash mountain this year, they'd turned all the music off and as we were led out the back way you could hear all the mechanisms and squeaks from all the moving animatronics, seemed really weird without the music.
Always get stuck on the HM but never at the dinner party scene, usually at the boring bits with nothing to look at other than a brick wall

Last year we were on Space Mountain when it broke down. They turned on the lights (very interesting) and pushed our car so that it would continue on the track the rest of the way. That is the only time I have been on an actual breakdown

Seriously? It was that easy? :confused3 Are you sure the Reedy Creek Fire Dept didn't show up and evacuate you through the roof of the building? :magnify:

Got stuck on the Peter Pan ride once, over the London Model. We were right by a speaker so I had to hear the music and the warning message repeatedly which got a little annoying close to the end. We (my wife and I) were stuck for about an hour while we waited for the Fire Department to bring a ladder out. The CM's were nice enough to bring us some chips while we waited to get rescued popcorn:: , and seeing the model up close and the rest of the ride with the lights on were cool. Climbing out on the ladder was a little unnerving though as it was just high enough to reach the bottom of the ship, so we had to step down a bit to get to it. All in all though I had no problem going on the ride again and can't wait to take my daughter on it nest month. :)

Too bad your wife wasn't lactating. . . she could have breastfed you to wash down the salty chips. :lmao:

I was on BTM when it broke down last year, something to do with low water pressure. Test Track broke down a few time last year when we were queuing for it, other than that no problems. :)

The only ride I have been evacuated from is Universe of Energy. Seems like a pattern here! Test Track is the only ride that breaks down regularly.

Got stuck for 45 minutes on Peter Pan once . . . MAN that "please stay seated" message is loud. we were in sight of the exit too, and the ride would start for a second, stop for about ten minutes (I'm guessing that's the reset cycle? could be wrong?) and then start again and move another foot. Not a fun one to get stuck on.

But tell us about the firemen carrying you down the big, long, 12 foot ladder! :bounce: That's what we want to know about! Did you get to ride in the firetruck?

I have never been evacuated but have been stopped numerous amounts of times on
.Peter Pan
.its a small world
.winnie the pooh
.carosell of progress (its a great big beautiful tomorrow...shinig at the end of this ride...)
.potc (only after when the new one was built...we got stuck in almost every scene)
.splash mountain once (going up the hill)
.spaceship earth (always get stuck near the top with the stars)
.buzz

.and swiss family robinson treehouse...if you count my sister stopping at EVERY little thing. we were "stuck" on that tree house for quuite sometime

Was stuck on Small World for about 15 minutes. I think the boat ramp malfunctioned.

And you kept your sanity? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We got stuck on Tom Sawyers Island once, years ago. The raft ran out of gas and the backup can was empty. We were there for about 40 minutes. It was a blast! We had actually joked with the CM on the way over because both Splash and Thunder Mountain had been breaking down all day and we decided to go to TSI because we were sure that wouldn't break down.

:guilty: No fireman, no firetruck, no ladder, they got it going.

but if it DOES break down again, I'm asking for a Chippendale's firefighter. Payback for DH oggling Ariel. I should get to have some fun too. :lmao:

We've been "stuck" on TTA for 10 minutes but never evacuated. Earlier this year, DS and I were about to enter a vehicle at Space Mountain and the ride was shut down. I don't know if any cars were stuck along the ride, but the timing of it was both good and bad I guess.

We were stuck in Spaceship Earth for about 20 minutes on our first trip in 1993. Then in '97 we were stuck in Small World for about 15 minutes. Since we had each other in '93, & our son in '97, we were fine and laughed about the Small World song being implanted in our bains forever! :sunny:

For the gentleman who was evacuated from Peter Pan, I have to ask, .....How on earth did the CMs get the chips to you?

On our last trip, we got stuck on spaceship earth for about 15 minutes near the top. It wasn't bad at all, actually quite relaxing!

If you look closely while riding Peter Pan you will see platforms all through the ride that your ship will go by. If people are stuck, they can safely step on that platform to get out of the ship. However, I had no idea what they did for those ships not near those platforms until I read this thread!

One time I got stuck for 20 minutes while riding the TTA, I was hoping that we'd get evacuated, but it didn't happen. A CM walked by asking everyone to remain seated and eventually the ride re-started.

Another time I was evacuated off the TOT. We reached the drop shaft and never dropped. Eventually they turned all the lights on, a voice told us that the elevator was under control, lowered us very very slowly down the drop shaft and they let us ride the real elevator back up to the loading area for those who wanted to get back on the ride.

OMG, Mono-rail thanks for the laugh. Now I am looking forward to the "evacuation". Since I will be in WDW for over a week its bound to happen at least once right?
