I have to tell you a funny story about the road workers out here. They eat their lunch in the shade of our trees behind our mail box. Someone in the crew is a pig, because they always leave pop cans, McD bags, sandwich wrappers etc juy lying on the bank. I picked it up a couple of times, but yesterday I put a garbage can out there. They still had stuff all over the ground, so last night when DH got home, he went and piled all the garbage on the hoods of their cars/pickups, and placed the garbage can in the middle of the road! They got the hint. By the time I got home all was clean!

Morning everyone!

Almost had to make a trip to the ER last night. The kids were playing ball in the back yard. One neighbor boy was swinging a small wooden bat just as Leah walked by, and it hit her right in the wrist. I called the pediatrician's office and we went through all of the range of motion tests. It was very, very, sore, but she could still move it a little bit. They suggested ice and Motrin, and then see how she is in the am. She was able to move it a little more by bedtime, so it doesn't seem as if anything is broken. Whew!

I will try to sneak in a guess tomorrow, but we have Girl Scout day camp the next three days so I don't know how much time I will have.

Diane - good for your DH! I hate when people are too lazy to pick up after themselves. Another pet peeve - people who leave their shopping carts right where they parked their car instead of walking 10 more feet and putting it in the proper space.

Bernie - rats! I was hoping you wouldn't notice my pants were going the wrong way...

LOL! I forgot to say that as DH was putting the garbage on the cars etc, the city engineer came by. She got a good chuckle out of what he was doing, and said she would ask them to be sure to pick up after themselves.

Good Morning Everyone,

Good thoughts for DblD and her family.
Looks like a keeper here today, sunny and 80..lawn needs to be mowed again.....I think I just did it on Friday
The goal is to plant the vegetable garden today, I don't think I've ever been this far behind either.
Motorcycle Week is in full swing here today..there's already been one fatal on the highway just beyond my back yard....so sad...but when you put sooooo many people in such a small place....it's not pretty!

Do you all want to heere the details from my Summer Exchange package???

Here ya' go!

The package arrived on Saturday with a bright green Mickey on it. I knew immediately what it had to be. I tore open the box and found a sheet of paper, typed in lime green with a great greeting and a list, each item marked by a numbered pink circle.....

Some of the listed items included...

"For Katie, something to color!"
"For Sharon, something to shake!"
"For the family, something for the pool!"

Well, I was intrigued, to say the least! I also realized that I would have to wait until Sunday to open up the wrapped goodies. The whole family was running every which way all day on Saturday. I left the box on the dining room table.

Sunday finally arrived and we gathered around the table and I passed the sheet around, giving everybody a chance to read it. Everybody took guesses for what the items might mean!

Then it turned into Christmas! We all took turns tearing open the goodies!

We went in order....

For Katie, something to color.....a Pirates Parrot coloring doll, with markers. She had it completely colored in within hours!

For Erin, something to collect...A Pirate Parrot Beanie! It's in a place of honor on here bedroom shelf!

For Matt and Bernie, something to wear....Pittsburgh Pirates caps! WAY COOL! Matt even SMILED!!! (Wonder of wonders!!)

For Sharon, something to shake....A Three Rivers Stadium snow globe! Sharon collects snow globes, so this is PERFECT!

For the family vehicle, something to display....A USA Mickey antenna topper! Way cool - it's on the car now!

For Bernie, something for work....a lime green Mickey pen! They know that I'm a big Disney fan at work - this will confirm it!

For Bernie, something for when we are pauing no attention to the man behind the curtain.....A Pirate Rubber Ducky!! LOL!!! He'll be making his way in to the show momentarily!

For Bernie, something for vacation....a pair of Disney shorts! Awesome - and the right size too!

For the family, something for the pool...A Pittsburgh Pirates beach towel! Katie had some friends over yesterday to swim in the pool. She proudly told me "Look what towel I'm using" as she held this up!

What a really GREAT time we had with that package. Big smiles all around here and all of that stuff will serve to remind us of how really nice people on the DIS are and especially my Exchange buddy.... Thank you Laura.

The weather is shaping up nicely here today as well! SUPPOSEDLY 80 - 85 and FULL SUN!!!!!(we won't TALK about the fact that more thunderstorms are on the way for tomorrow, right?) !

Lorraine - hope you get your "pants" today! Between you AND your flowerbeds.....there would be WAY to much "nakiness" going on at the Shamrock residence!!!

LK - I hope that Leah feel's better as the day goes on.....that kind of a "bash" usually feels worse the next day, but gradually shows improvement as the day goes on.

Anyway, have to tell you all a funny little Kasie story from
this past weekend.

I'm trying to get her ready to go out, and of course catching her
is half the battle ... as she runs around with one sock and shoe on .... laughing and waiting for me to catch her ... LOL

Anyway, I get HER all set and am now trying to get myself ready.
As I'm tieing my shoes, she comes up and says "Daddy let me help" .... this coming from a little girl with VELCO SHOES ...
I just thought that was hysterical ... LOL

Good morning all! Pretty day so far outside, but it is again, cold as heck on the inside. I just don't see why we need a/c running when it isn't even 60 degrees outside

Hey Kim!!! You just getting up, or just going to bed It's awfully early there!

Thinking of DblD and her family today... they are all in my prayers.

Planting annuals... we still have to dig out some of our damaged bushes from the winter. Many of them collapse in the snow this year. I'm also going to dig up all the tulips they had planted out front... I realized this year they had NO concept of coordination when they planted the tulips. The colors and sizes just don't look right. Ah the joys of new homes... hating what they did before you

LOL Diane!!!! That was a smart way to get them to pick it all up!!

LK, that sounds awful!!! I hope Leah's arm wrist feels better soon!!! Just glad it doesn't seem to be broken.

Bernie, sounds like a wonderful box full of great goodies there! Something for everyone

Oh and that reminds me... my box was sent out yesterday during lunch... heading... well not close to here

Morning all! I haven't a clue , but that's not un-normal this time of day.

Bernie, I'm a-guessin' that Mickey's excitement for 11 days is days left of school. I have 11 days with kids and 1 PA day. And I'm jumping, too.

It's still just a bit cool, but the sun is out today. Nice to see that thing in the sky. And, actually, being cool has been a blessing. We are still working hard in grade one! And the behaviour is still (well one day so far this week) not outrageous! YEAH!

Valerie - I'm glad you were concerned about my "nakiness" today. I think it was on page 3 or 4 that I actually got the "DAILY DOUBLE"!!!!! I don't get too many of those, so I am going to enjoy it (although I am going to be quite hot w/ 2 pairs of pants today).
