Riddle me this!

Well, the biggest mall in town - the one that is supposed to eventualy become DestiNY - has instituted a new rule regarding teenagers at the mall.

From 4 pm until closing, on Fridays and Saturdays, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over age 21.

There are a couple of exceptions - stores with exterior entrances are exempt - and kids can still go see a movie unaccompanied as long as they use a specific mall entrance.

We've long been leery of going to that mall because of the gangs of kids who seem to gather there - and we know a security person there who has told us some real horror stories. We'd never let our kids hang out there.

It will be interesting to see how this new rule settles though.

Do you have anything like this where you are?

I found a note in AJ's backpack from school, they are looking for old neckties for a project this week (Dad's day no doubt)...what a great opportunity to clean out some of those ties that are in Neil's collection that are his most fashion risky :o

DH managed to get two full days of work in on the house this weekend after all. He has most of the wiring done now, and most of the security wiring as well. He also finished the kennel drains rough in to the septic system. The kennel has it's own septic system, and the guys who did it didn't do the inside rough in, so he had to dig long deep trenches in VERY hard packed clay most of the weekend. He is really stiff and sore today!

The Mall of America has a similar policy on weekends. They have had some problems with gang kids coming out on the bus from the city. Now police guards stand at each entrance and on the mall side of each entrance and main department store. It has helped a lot. The difference here is that there are NO exceptions even for the movie theater or Camp Snoopy amusement area.

Hi everyone! Glad to hear you're feeling better, Bernie, And despite my name, I'm going to change my name to Debbie (just for today) so I can have coffee, too. ;)

LOL, "Debbie"! I think I will have to change mine too, because I don't drink soda, but I love coffee!!;)

LOL, Deb! I gave coffee up, so call me Bern today! :)

MALL?????

What's that? ;)
In the little town I used to live in, we had no mall, just a corner store. The town where I live now, has a little mall though. the kids here hang out at our theatre.......BIG SCREEN pics!!

Does anyone else hear Belle singing????

M65 It just struck me as very "Beauty and the Beast"-like ...lol....

I don't know if we have a rule like that in any of our malls. After seeing the kids congregate, I've become very leary about being in a mall after dark. I suspect we do have the rule at the malls....what the kids do to get around it is to congregate at the outside entrance of the movie theatre attached to the mall. It's rather unnerving. They do have a security guard outside with the kids, but quite frankly, I don't feel safe....even with my 6', 200 lb husband.

Mickey, Toronto has a mall bigger than the MOA! It was built by the same guys who built ours!

Hey...I can have coffee this morning.......Sticky Buns!! not the breakfast..the coffee!!!!
