Morning everyone! Lots of computer problems today. I have to keep rebooting. What a pain.

Diane - looks like I will just miss you in August. We are sneaking in a trip from the 17th through the 21st. Stephanie - when are you thinking of going? Better book the Marriott soon - I hear the rooms are going quickly! Great idea on the Disney dollars for the Easter eggs!!

If we invited just immediate family on both my side and DH's, we would have 30 people! There are seven siblings in my family, DH only has himself and his sister.

I think I have to go into work today - yuck! My sister, who works with me, isn't feeling well, and one of us has to make it in to sort all of the paychecks to mail them out for tomorrow. This is why I always preach to people - get direct deposit!

Gina, what time did you say dinner was on Sunday?? Congrats to Matt on his win. That is great.

We will be heading out Friday to my brother's in Connecticut. I will drive to Baltimore in the morning and pick up my mom. Then come back home for the rest of the family, then off to CT. Saturday we are going to take DD and tour University of Massachusetts. Sunday = Easter, then home on Monday.

We were thinking about going in August.....that $20.03 rate is phenomenal. We're kind of hamstrung on dates, though....my BIL is getting married on the 16th and the rate begins on the 10th....DH's vacation is from 8/02-8/17. Also the weather....I know they get afternoon t-storms....no biggie for me but DH absolutely hates the humidity. I have a feeling he'd be quite miserable.

But.....I'm going to plan a vacation for either August or November! YIPPEEE!!!! WHERE is now the question!

Good morning everyone!

Glad everyone is BACK and in better health too! Sounds like it was a QUIET week around here last week! Lars - great pic of your kids with Dan!

Congratulations Diane for Duffy's wins! And Gina - congratulations to Matt for his gold swim! WooHooo!!

Well - we had a lovely week on the ocean and in the rainforests and in the Olympic mountain range and National Park. We hiked everyday at differing locations (sometimes beach, sometimes rainforest, sometimes BOTH!). We did one particularly nice hike that was very long in length... 4 miles out to Cape Alava which is a wilderness beach (only accessible by hoofing it in), then quite a distance of beach hiking, with the final push being another 4 mile segment back to the main trail head. Oh... but the rewards were great for the effort! We saw over TWENTY! bald eagles (male and females) that were hunting in the low tide area of Cape Alava. They were GORGEOUS! My camera had insufficient ZOOM capability to do them justice - so you will just have to imagine what that was like. We also saw blacktailed deer at this same location and packed back a couple of Japanese fishing net floats that we found on the beach. There were a BUNCH of them there along with other Japanese bottles etc. that had been tossed overboard from the fishing fleets out in the Pacific waterways. Other highlights of the week.... hiking right into a very LARGE herd of elk bedded down in a meadow (over 2 dozen and YES we did get pictures of them!), a VERY large otter, lots of black tailed deer, and we also saw some gorgeous HUGE salmon spawning in the gravels of Willoughby creek. Had lunch at the historic Quinalt Lodge on Lake Quinalt (this is a great location and I would love to stay here too some time). The weather was fairly good for us - several sunshiny days and the rainy days gave us some breaks to do our thing in... only one day where we got thoroughly soaked to the bone.

We had a good time. Planning already for next year's spring break trip though. Started that on the long car ride home. It will be WDW again and we are going to save our pennies for a stay at AKL this time. I can hardly wait!!!

DblD - that sounds like a fantastic vacation! I'm glad you had a great time. On our way to church yesterday, we spotted 8 deer running up a hillside next to the road. I've seen one or two at a time before, but never 8!

Sounds like an Angel Fest at WDW in August. I can't even consider those dates because the kids will be back to pre-season sports and marching band practice.

DblD, Welcome Back. That sounds like a great vacation that I would like to do.

Gina, if your DH's vacation starts August 2, I think you should start your vacation in Cedar Point then continue from there.

Welcome back Bernie! And Dianne, and DblD, and Elaine, and Lars. Brisully riddling, he needs a pin to commemerate. Everyone had such a good time at the World. Except Bernie, glad you are better. Angelcon is on August 17-20! I'll be there, too. Steph. all alone? Lars, with kids? Me, I think those 3 days I will be solo, sis is going home on the 17th, I believe. DblD, nature is so awe inspiring. You had a fantastic trip. My weekend was quiet, my allergies are in full swing, I feel like there is a flood in my head, sneezing, tongue itches, generally not fun. It makes me want to do nothing, and it lasts a long time, they get worse every year, I will probably have to go back on shots.

Dianne, pictures of the pups, please, please, please................

Lars, cute kids with Dan. Glad you had such good weather.

I would LOVE to but.....the plan is for next June.....at the Swan! I found out I can get a great rate through work so we're saving our pennies already!
(Don't tell Lew because he doesn't understand...I'm already thinking of what to do, where I want to eat, etc. already!!)
