Riddle me this!

Amid, sorry to hear about your friend.
I'll keep her in prayer.

Sorry I missed the riddle yesterday. Had an extra LONG day at work. Looks like you all had fun!!

Diane, sounds like fun! Gina, pass that Atlas when you're done.:teeth:
Hard to imagine a bigger mall than King of Prussia, that one wore me out!!

King of Prussia is not the same kind of mall as the MOA! I get worn out at King of Prussia too!:p

Good morning everyone!

Bernie that was a beautiful old house you showed this morning. If I get a free weekend I might have to go check it out since it is only about 2 hours away from me.

Amid, I am sorry about your friend but I am glad that the doctors picked up on some things before something terrible had happened.

PM being sent.

Diane, when are you leaving for your trip??
Your countdown clock says 17 days.

Diane there are Northwest commuter flights from Detroit to Minneapolis about every hour so I just might surprise you:D I'd love the opportunity to see your beautiful home in person & shopping with a MOA expert sounds like blast!

LOL, Ranatra! I meant 2 1/2 weeks away!!! Actually, my countdown clock is a little off. We changed our dates by a few days because I donated points for Stehpanie to take her family to WDW last summer, and had to shorten our trip a little to accommodate it.

Time to catch up with everyone!

Diane - thanks for the invite!!! I'm going to have to map out how far away you are.....what town are you near??? You'd better getting crackin', Diane. Christmas AND a Disney trip coming up!!!

Gina - folks are ALL OVER This riddle!! Pants are just flying outta the closet! :) Ya know - I understand that they are giving away Knicks tickets on the radio this year. First prize is tickets to a Knick's game. Second prize is tickets to two Knicks games......:p

Lars - we're heading for a bit of a warm up today. I wish it would get warmer for a couple of days and melt away the snow here. I lost my keys while shoveling my driveway before DISCon! They're buried under the snow now..... And YES, yesterday's riddle was an absolute HOOT!!!! Did you know the record # of responses is 240 - for last year's riddle - the one with John Goodman!!

Isn't that a lovely staircase, Kim! They have some nice Chsitmas decorations, don't they? WARP AND WRAP drive!!! We're heading over to grandma's house tonight to do our Santa wrapping!!

Sandi - you must be thrilled. ENJOY!! :)

Mickey - I so enjoyed PM'ing with you and #1 yesterday. That was so much fun! :) It looks like Diane might make your dream come true! :)

Kitty! Enjoy the day! :)

spb - almost page 1! It mosts fast, doesn't it?!!! And yeah!! I hadn't thought about it, but why does it let double and triple posts go through?!?!?!?!?!?!? I think it's just messing with our heads!!!

Glo - hang in there, my friend. Be sure to stop by here in the morning for a little smile, okay? :)

Amid - I'm so sorry that your friend is going through this right now. I think it is fortunate that the warning signs were noted and acted upon, even though it must be so painful for her family right now. I do hope they come upon a treatment that will help her out of this situation......{{{{hugs}}} to you for your friend and her family....

Hiya, Boo'sMom - how are you doing today??? :)

Gail - thanks for the explanation! Makes perfect sense - great user name! :)

'Morning, Elaine! That would be a neat house to check out, wouldn't it?

Back to my PM's - I have a feeling there are more pants to be given out!

Have a WONDERFUL day everyone! :)

I just wanted to share with my friends here a story...warning..it may be a bit graphic...and a lot sappy

This story started 11 years ago today.....when my oldest son Patrick was born....Patrick was a "Desert Storm" baby....DH and I had only been married 3 months before he was called to active duty....after talking with our minister, we decided....."let's try"

low and behold, I was pregnant...probably before the words were actually out of my mouth...LOL.....I had a rough pregnancy (all three were actually) and had preclampsia and all the horrible side effects of that. My due date was December 31. Well, by December 17 my body and my mental state couldn't deal with being pregnant anymore and my OB decided to induce me.

It was a horrible snowy day in NH. I remember looking out the window and thinking...nobody is going to come see us....the hospital is on top of a hill, and not really easy to get to....

Well, after 12 hours of going nowhere with my labor, the OB upped the pitocin and things started to happen. As the baby decended into the birth canal all of his vital signs dipped waaaaay down. I remember my doctor YELLING at me that we needed to get the baby out......the nurse shoved a form under my nose and said sign here...you're having a c-section..almost immediately there were 15 extra people in the room...specialists, pediatricians, etc.,..well, we were too far into it to actually turn back and Patrick was delivered, the umbilical cord was around his neck and across his chest, cutting off his oxygen....I never saw him as they whisked him off to a warming bed......Neil and I sat for what seemed like hours, but only about 10 minutes....and we didn't hear a baby cry.....I was the only one crying.

The doctor read off the apgar scores.....0.........1..........1.......my baby wasn't breathing...he was blue........meanwhile....the doctor realizes I am hemmoraging, and I'm sent off to surgery......47 stiches later I go to my room....I still haven't seen my baby...it's been 2 hours...

Well, Patrick was cared for by an incredible doctor by the name of Christian Hallowell, he got Patrick breathing but then Patrick had several seizures. When I got back to my room, they informed me they wanted to send him to Dartmouth Hitchcock...about an hour away....of course that was in good traveling weather...

I was able to hold him for about 2 minutes, and the kind nurse left me with the blanket he was wrapped in. Off my baby went...the next day I was discharged (much to my dr.'s dismay) and DH and I went to Hanover. We spent a week in the NICU with Patrick, and he finally came home on christmas eve. He suffered from an epidural hemotoma...and was the only recorded case of it in a newborn.....great...medical history.....

Fast forward 11 years...Patrick has grown into a very wonderful "mini-man" and has suffered no side effects of the trauma of birth. He is exceptionally bright (as every mother knows her kids are...) and a kind and compassionate individual. Today, on his birthday, I give thanks for the wonders of faith, science and medicine, and I am thankful to Dr. Hallowell for saving my son's life. We are truly a lucky family.

Thanks for reading this far my friends.......you'll now be returned to the chaos known as the morning riddle.....

EDITED TO ADD:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, LARS we always stay at OKW! I know I would love being near Epcot, but I can't seem to give up the space and setting at OKW for a hotel setting like BCV.

as you can see Bernie...I've been here..just busy writing a novella......LOL...

Have a great day everyone....DS2 is up....looks like conjunctivitis is back........aaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhh

Boo'Mom! What a touching story! I am so glad you had the great doctors to make sure he had no lasting effects of his trauma. I can't say the same for my first exerience. DD has CP because the doctors DIDN'T know what to do!

Morning all

Amid - sorry to hear that

Happy Birthday to Patrick

Have a good day everyone

I was behind today before I even got up

I am foreseeing a rough patch of days ahead of me

Oh, Boo'sMom! What a story! And thank goodness for the wonderfully happy ending!
