LOL, Lars! I know my 14-YO DD is looking to get a car ASAP! She wants a white Volkswagon Jetta. Santa beware.

I set up a hotmail account for Katie. She gets email from Santa through the holidays. They have WONDERFUL conversations. In fact, Katie keeps them going long after the holidays, right up until Santa goes on vacation to his secret tropical island. The one with no internet access.

Mickey - I imagine that this time of year and late June (at least around here) must be the most 'interesting' times to be a teacher!

Vanessa - having met you a couple of times now, I know just what a sweetie you are. Can't wait to see you again.

TX - i got my pictures back yesterday and realized that I'm a lousy photographer. But I do have a couple of good ones of the riddle buds. I'll be posting soon.

This is home for me. I don't care how nasty it gets out there....and I do sometimes get my slugs in just to remind people that I have an opinion and am not all sweetness and light...but this is a sanctuary where we can all just hang out and be ourselves. No pretense. No lies. Just friendship.

Marla - clarinets can be squeaky little things can't they?!!!! My two DD's play viola and violin. They can be very squeaky things too! But when they finally figure it out and develop enough strength to keep pressure on the strings, it is a glorious thing to hear.

Last night was kids Christmas concert. After all their years of playing, this is the first time the were in the same band. So neat to have them together.

Hey buds, do you know how special our Riddlemeister is?? As my DIScon buddy, he sent me a keychain with the letter "B" for Breezy, and Mickey and Minnie Christmas stockings. Plus an "Honorary Riddlemeister" ribbon. I loved it all.

So Kim and Gina. I don't know this one either so I guess I am in good company.

My DH will serve you much the same things you'll find at The Rose & Crown OK That is Matt's favorite place to go at Epcot! He has found a nice pub near here that serves English beer. After a few trips to Europe for business he's become what we jokingly call a beer snob.

Marla, imagine sitting in a room that is 3' by 4' with a squeeky beginner clarinet player! Then multiply that several times and add a few beginner saxophones for effect! Those first 6 weeks of lessons about drive me crazy! I end up with sore jaws from clenching my teeth!

I finished up my Christmas cards last night (finally!). I am hoping to shift gears into "holiday mood" this week. My departmental celebration is Thursday. Looking forward to that ... cause they are a great group of people and we always have a good time.

Windy and rainy this morning... forecast is for increasing cold as the week progresses... changing the rain to white stuff. We just might have a white Christmas this year.

No snow here - it snows but doesn't stick to the ground or if snow - it is gone in a few hours - but I have a feeling that we will get hit sooner or later

5 days of school and believe you me - Kara is counting down every second

Got the shopping all done yesterday - kidnapped mom and drug her to the mall for the afternoon now to get it all wrapped and shipped out - they may or may not get there in time for Christmas this year

All this talk of clarinets and violins got me to thinking.... and I thought I would pose a QUESTION OF THE DAY:

As an adult, is there any instrument you would like to learn to play?

For me I would love to play the violin AND the harmonica! I bet I could learn the harmonica... but the violin seems like a big undertaking to learn. I already play the piano... just don't indulge myself to play enough.
