We had a pretty nice day here on Saturday, but yesterday was....interesting. Rain and thunderstorms rumbling through the area, with tornado warnings to boot. Thanksfully, the big winds never materialized.

We've got a weeks' worth of rainy weather ahead.

Morning gang

I am back home for a bit! Like Bernie posted, my mom is out of the coma and all things appear to be functioning on their own. It will still be a while before she can come home though. She is still in ICU for a few more days, then into step down and then they go from there. Thank-you so much for all the kind thoughts and prayers for my family during this time

It is back to school today, and this starts the week of our provincial testing. It is just the grade 3's and 6's, but it will be a long week. I will have some of the students that have IEP's.

Well, my soon to be 15-yo DD made a pretty big decision this week.

My parents are travelling down to Florida the week leading up to Memorial Day to visit with my two brothers who live there. They were going to take my 2 DDs with them. Erin, my older daughter, realized that she had a test to take that week and finals coming up the week following and had to cancel, even though she really, really wanted to spend time with her favorite cousins.

So, she's pretty bummed about missing the trip, but we're pretty proud that she made the right decision.

Sorry for the daddy brag.

YAWWWWN! Got home late from the game. THE TWINS TOOK 4 of 6 from the Red Sox for the season!! It wasn't pretty last night though!

So glad your Mom is out of coma, Val! I was thinking about you this weekend.

Glad your DD is making adult decisions, too, OK! She is turning into a fine young woman!

Hey Boo's Mom! When is YOUR mother's birthday? I think I can blackmail you for a clue to today's riddle!

Well....I've been reading about missing DISers this morning. We've had quite a few folks stop by the riddle for long stretches and then step away, some from the boards altogether, some just from the riddle.

There is absolutely no way that we can know what goes on behind the glass for all of our friends here. Sometimes real life just accelerates so much that the time spent DISing just disappears. Sometimes we may have our feelings hurt and have to reconsider what it is we're looking for out of this place and what it is we're looking to put in to this place. Sometimes we might just get a little weary and decide it's time to take a little break.

Knowing that there are REAL people behind these fun names and avatars, I can only say that I'm always delighted to hear from folks when they have the time and inclination to post here on the DIS, the CB and the riddle. When they don't, I miss them - but I understand, and I hope they find their way back. If they don't, well I will miss them, but I'm really thankful for the fun and friendship that they've invested in this place. They've made me smile and smiled with me and even if that lasted only a moment, I can't help but think that it's made us both a little happier.

Cheesh - is that too serious, or what????

I'm here......I'm here!!!!! This darn machine won't let me type 3 letters without giving me all kinds of errors... My good news is that our brandy-new Dell is in this very city as we speak....sure hope it's delivered today!! FYI.....Dell uses a funky delivery system of a carrier (APX) to your local post office.

Any and all clues appreciated.....I'll check back in at work a bit later. Right now I'm trying to get bunches of stuff done....including a topographical map of the world made out of clay ...so I can set up that new baby once it arrives!
