Riddle me this! (I'm back!)

This phone stuff remindes me of what a friend of ours does with irritating solitcitations that come in about bed time. He engages in a conversation with the solicitor and gets enough information to find out the president or CEO of the company. Then he sets his alarm for 2 am. and calls THEM! He says he hopes he didn't disturb them any more than their solcitation disturbed him and hangs up!!

Gail-Keeping my fingers crossed!

Bernie- Your weekend sounds great. Your description of the TI makes me miss living at that end of the St Larwrence. I used to hang on the river on the TI Parkway. My friend had a boat and we would cruise the islands on nice summer days. A beautiful sight it is.

My kitty went blind the other day. The poor baby was bumping into walls and furniture, and just disoriented. Had her to the vet and he said it is likely due to high blood pressure (imagine a cat with high blood pressure!) The root of the problem is her thyroid, so she will have to be on pills for the rest of her life. She is slowly adjusting to having no sight. I knew this morning when she woke me up at 5:00am demanding breakfast taht she would be ok. Somethings neve change.

Mickey - I'm sorry to hear about your kitties troubles. It sounds like she is going to be able to adjust though......here's some {{{kitty hugs}}} for her. :)

Gotta go "do dogs" early today. I have to go out to the new place and give the workers the "code" for the elctronic locks and water my new bushes since it didn't rain over the weekend. Then I have allergy shots and today we close on our refinance of our current house just before we go to the game tonight. A REALLY busy day today!

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.....

Good morning all! I hope you had a good weekend. Luis and I were able to make the drive up to Towncrier's for John Con. I have some pictures posted here

Bernie, sounds like a great weekend for you (rain and all)!! I am glad that you had one day rain free as well though. What a pain the phone calls were last night. We used to have someone who kept accidentally calling our number on their cell phone... we didn't know them and they always called while out partying at 2-3 am

Sandi, so glad to hear that you avoided the rain this weekend for your bike trip!

Lars, sounds like a wonderful lunch. I hope you two enjoy it :)

Diane, so glad to hear that the roof is mostly done now and congrats to Duffy!!! That's wonderful! And those doors are amazingly beautiful!

Steph, I hope that rain goes away soon!! We've had some sun lately and I hope that heads your way quickly.

DIANE.....RIDDLERS ARE THE BEST OF THE BREED!!!! ......we just haven't quite figured out WHAT that breed is........ :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
LOL :teeth: We are a rare breed indeed :p And Gina, I believe it was the dirty abominable snowman (with a hump of course) coupled in with a few others and I believe you did mention a camel somewhere. You just had me laughing so hard I had to give you a few pants :teeth:

Gail I hope you are feeling better soon. I will send tons of PD Matt's way. I hope things work out for the best!!! My brother and husband are percussionists... I still have at least some hearing left ;)

Marsha, I look forward to seeing the pics of the new house :)

L4, glad you had a good weekend! Enjoy doing the laundry :p ;)

Mickey, sorry to hear about your kitty. I do know that a friend of mine had a cat that went blind and they didn't even notice for a long time. It was more gradual though and the cat adjusted with the smell and touch. No one really noticed unless you tried to play with a laser pointer. My brother's cat went deaf and again, no problems there either :) I hope the same for your kitty with the blindness :)

I see my pants beat me so I had better scoot off and get some work done (maybe... hard to work when you are only here two days during the week :teeth: )

Good morning everyone!!

Welcome back from your camping weekend, Bernie!!

Gina, I loved your "camel" riddle. I actually got it!!! Says something about me and riddles, I guess!!!:jester: :jester:

Good morning OK and the Corral

I don't know the riddle but wanted to stop in and say HI!

Mickey, {{{hugs}}} to your kitty. Why don't you get it a seeing eye dog?

Bro, glad you had fun camping and that your girls are home safe and sound.

Gail, it is funny how school systems are so different. Here I think you can still start in middle school but no one starts on percussion. They have to take something else first.

Diane, if you need rain for your plants, feel free to have some of mine. I can't get a garden in because it never stops raining.

Good morning everyone!

Mickey65 - Sorry about your sweet kitty. :( It sounds like she is doing okay with the change.

Diane - Your doors (heck the whole house) are beautiful! Congratulations to Duffy - he has really been winning big this season. :)

Bernie - Welcome home buddy! I love to just sit and watch the world go by - especially when it is a particularly gorgeous piece of it. So.... I shouldn't call you again at 1 am?! :p   :teeth:

We are definitely getting summer weather now. It was 88 degrees here on Saturday. Cooled down to mid 70's for the rest of the weekend... but the forecast for the rest of the week is sunny and warm - highs in the 80's. :) I did alot of gardening this weekend - and my muscles are telling me about it too. Guess who I get to see this coming weekend?! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

YEPOD!!!!!

He is going to be in the Seattle area visiting family... and is going to drive half way and meet me in Ellensburg for a mini DIS Meet on Sunday! :) I am really looking forward to it. Hmmmm.... I wonder if the dress code at the restaurant prohibits lime green thongs?! :smooth:

Way cool, DblD! Say HI to John for me! If John wears a lime green thong, it won't be for long!!!! :teeth:

Sounds like you're getting the weather I wish we were getting! :)

Good morning, Sis! :)

Hiya, Kitty! :)

Hey, Elaine! :)

Have a WONDERFUL day everyone! :)

Good morning all!!

Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend!!

I had to work on Saturday - so DH and I took off in the truck on Sunday for a drive up through the Berkshires in MA - it was gorgeous! Everything was so green! We went to the Hancock Shaker Village - very very cool - sort of like Old Sturbridge Village but more spread out.

We took DH's 87 yr old grandmother to the chinese buffet for the first time yesterday- what a hoot! She enjoyed herself so much!! All in all it was a nice weekend here (weatherwise I am soggy but otherwise...) it was nice to spend some alone time with DH -we haven't done that a lot lately.

PM sent and morning

update on log distance bf: he's hopefully coming in this weekend:)

Good morning all! I haven't a clue on the riddle but that's sort of par for the course for the day I'm having.

Welcome back Bernie! Glad to hear that you had a great camping trip! I always consider it a successful trip as long as I get to have campfires too. Glad to hear that the girls had a good holiday too.
Sorry to hear about the phone calls. Maybe she thinks her hubbie is fooling around on her, and when a guy answered, it really freaked her out!!!

Beautiful doors Diane! Glad to hear that Duffy is doing so well. It's great when one of your dogs gets BOB! BTW, Bernie's not getting his weather from this part of Canada. It's been pretty nice here.

Good luck with DS getting into the music program Gail. Our schools don't offer anything like that, and I wish they did.

Your trip sounds like a really nice one Cyn.

Mickey, {{{HUGS}}} for you and your kitty. I hope that everything works out fine for her.

Marsh, good luck with the new house. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of it.

Bernie sounds like your camping trip was a success. Glad you guys had fun. Your description was very poetic. It almost made me feel like I was there. Sounds like an interesting night last night. Don't you just hate it when someone calls repeatedly like that? Especially late at night.

Laura, enjoy that lunch. Sounds like a good time.

Diane, I'm sending congratulations to Duffy. Quite an accomplishment. I'm glad to hear that the roof is almost finished. The doors look wonderful! Sounds like a hectic day. Hope you have time to put your feet up tonight.

Stephanie, do we need to send scuba gear yet? Hope it's not raining quite that much. ;) Or is it farm equipment that you are needing the most? I hate it when I can't get the grass cut, but I always tell myself this time of year that in a couple of months we'll be praying for rain, so we'd best be thankful that we are getting plenty now. LOL! It's so dry here in the summer.

Gail, hope you get better quick. Glad you are going to check it out. Hope they can give you a miracle cure. In our schools, you HAVE to start band in the 6th grade. I don't know how much they are willing to bend, but they warn the 5th grade parents. It's a now or never thing. Hope it's not that way in your district. As a 2 time band parent, I'm pulling for you. Maybe if you get private lessons this summer? BTW, our percussion section starts out as percussion. No prior experience necessary.

Lorraine, you need to wait and fill the pool AFTER they have it finished. ;) Hope the forcast is wrong and they start it on time.

Mickey, I'm glad to hear that your kitty is adjusting. Sounds like she'll get lots of TLC from you and that is bound to help.

CynJ, sounds like you had fun! We did a Chinese buffet on Sunday. We like Chinese and DS loves any buffet. He's a teen and is ALWAYS hungry.

I've sent my PM. We had a good weekend. Spent a lot of time looking at used cars for DS. Still haven't picked one out, but we've narrowed the scope. Visited with my brother and his family on Saturday at my mother's house. They are from Tulsa, so we seem them frequently, but it's always good to get together. Spent Sunday evening with my in-laws. We were celebrating 3 family birthdays. DH's birthday is tomorrow. We worked around the house yesterday. Got pizza and had a "family night" last night. We watched Tuck Everlasting. It's a good movie. I'm still in my pj's. First morning that I didn't have to be somewhere since school was out. I need to go get a shower. Have to take DS to swimming practice in a little while. It was just nice to be lazy about getting ready, even though I got up really early today. Hope everyone has a great day. I'll check back later to see if I earned my pants.

Good morning all, I slept late a little this morning, and got to work late. No one even notices!

Bernie, you are quite a writer. I love your descriptions of the scenery. Glad you are back, though. The substitue meisters had us going all weekend.

Diane, love the house. And what a fine dog Duffy must be, I think we need to see his little face here one day.

Mickey - my female dog is blind, it happened over the 4th of July last year. She does pretty well, her head must be very hard, as often as she runs into the coffee table, the wall, the chairs, etc. She seems to have a hearing loss, also. But she is old, and like humans, they wear out. As long as she can find her doggy door, all is good.

Mahsha - Even though its a bite in the butt to do all the moving, won't you love living in your new home and enjoying the cape?

DblD - the thong is not the problem, the uniform may raise some eyebrows!

Elaine, 2 more days and we will all hate you. But only till you return from OKW.

CynJ - I love that area of the country this time of year. And those restored areas just make history come alive. Odd to think that someone is 87 and never been to Chinese Buffet. Be careful, she may want to do it weekly.

Steph, I'll send you some sun, we only got to 101 yesterday, so far it has been very not hot. Hot enough to be in the pool, tho.

Lorraine, I feel for you, I thought mine would be done in about a month, but they took their sweet time. It is well worth it. You and the kids will love it.

Laura - quads!!! How neat that you have a place to do it. I don't envy the laundry situation.

Gail, feel better, I hope it is not anything serious. And for Matt - I do hope he makes it. My son started in grade 6 asa drummer, went on to other percussion, and still plays. As far as noise at home, you should get a practice pad for him. Ian plated all the time on his, in the car, watching TV, and no noise!!!!

I hope I hit all the highlights. We had a water leak under my bathroom sink yesterday, so I guess we will be plumbing tonight. Pete got the entryway/ghallway/guest bath flooring in on Saturday. Only 4 rooms and a walkin closet left to redo.

Whoops..my apologies. I had a long update that I intended to put on another thread. Since we can not delete posts, I am editing it to the friendly message you are reading now

I hope everyone had a good holiday...

HINTS

Are there any hints here?? I need HINTS.

Was that subtle enough?
