Good morning friends.....welcome back OK!

I know what BOB means Diane.....good for Duffy....and his owners too! :teeth:

I've been laying low all weekend and today, after 4 days of a sore throat, I need to see what's wrong. I didn't mind the rain because I was pretty unmotivated.

Would you guys mind keeping your fingers crossed for us? I'm trying to get Matt into the instrumental program at school for next year. Normally they start in 5th for everything but strings (they're in 4th) but he had been involved in 2 sports and scouts and I didn't think he had the time needed for an instrument. Now he's just playing baseball and really wants to try percussion (I know, I know!) Our school system is not known from straying from "what we've always done in the past" so I'm not sure they'll go for it. I know we have a bunch of present & former musicians, as well as lots of band-parents so I'd appreciate your sending some pd our way!

Diane...congrats to Duffy....of course we are clueless as to what all that means, but you're happy, so we're happy!

L6...the lawns is very very green (except that spot I spilled fertilizer on an burned it :o) it's just going to need to be hayed in stead of mowed!!!!

looks like rain right through next weekend...at least off and on....I'm never going to get my vegetables in the ground....I guess this is mother nature's way of saying I REALLY am supposed to wait until June here in NH....

hey, at least it isn't snow!

Even through the rain, the Thousand Islands are really gorgeous. We ended up camping on a point of land that stretched out into the St. Lawrence, with a great view of dozens of islands all around us. Some of the islands are quite small, with room enough for a tree or two - others are quite large, with room for expansive (and expensive) houses.

Each morning, they were hidden by the fog that shrouded the river. As the day warmed, they would appear, one by one, like old friends stepping out of memory into reality again.

At night, the clouds sometimes broke up long enough to show the sun descending at the end of the river. It was really neat to look back east and see what tricks the light was playing on the islands.

We spent a lot of time sitting on the rocks at the edge of the river, watching the world go by! :)

I got a student drum you can have!!!! grrrrrrrrr......

Good Luck!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Gail! I'm not sure how your system works but my DS was originally interested in percussion and wasn't allowed to try it becasue he had no prior musical experience. It seems that the majority of kids here want to do percussion so they limit it by only allowing kids who have taken private lessons in piano or something to do it. DS loves the trumpet now & is glad that's what he ended up with.
He goes to Marching band camp for the first time this summer & he's really excited about it!

Good Morning all.....Welcome back Bernie, and I hope everyone stayed dry this weekend... I have been in lockdown packing... Diane...this is awful, this packing...the stress...

Anyhow.. I have no idea on the riddle.....my brain is cooked from all this chaos.... any help is appreciated.....Everyone have a great Tuesday...hopefully the sun will come out. :)

Gail - I hope it works out!! Iwas a drummer through elementary and high school.....

I suggest....

:)

Marsha - I do imagine you are as busy as all-getout! Hang in there! :)

I can't imagine why they would "lock out" Matt from music! You might be right about prior experience to do percussion though. A lot of schools around here do that too. If that is the case, get him private lessons over summer, and they will probably recant in the fall.

Here is a pic of our new doors and the neat front latches.

Diane....fabulous....I'm continually awed by your own WL.

Diane.. love the leaded glass windows in the doors and the handles are beautiful.. I will try and get some pics on my digital of the new house this Monday... we pass papers this coming Monday.. EEK.. I will then own two houses and a rented apartment in Boston.. Double EEK.....
