Hi Guys!!
We didn't get back from DS's hockey game until 11:30 It was scheduled to begin at 9 but the game before them was running late so it pushed our game back. This was the first game in a round robin type of tournament & our boys won 6 to 0.
Tomorrow he has a 7am practice & then a tournament game at 2pm.
I'll talk to you all in the morning!

Good morning chatters!

Just stopping in for a second. I have to get the kids up. They need to leave at 9:15 to go to their Solo and Ensemble festival. DD plays at 10 and DS plays at 11. They decided that they would rather travel together and hang around with each other and both stay the entire time if DD could drive and they didn't have to be seen with mom. DH is at work so I will be home alone. Yippee!

Carol, I had a coat like that too.
And white go-go boots...of course...but you didn't wear them with your gaucho pants (yep, had those)
For the spring concert at school the songs are all from the 70s, so of course we've embarassed our kids by being able to sing every word to them..LOL...
DS11 wants to wear an afro wig....I told him since 5th grade is the last year in the elementary school, he should convince the 5th graders to all dress up in 70s clothes....LOL...which led DH and I to a conversation about cordoroy bell bottoms....the pants that went VOOMPAH VOOOMPAH when you walked.

Carol that sounds like a wonderful day!! Good Luck to both of them!! I always enjoy Solo & Ensemble! too bad we'll be in WDW during our spring one. We only have 2 more weeks until band festival.

I think my favorite ones were navy blue Levi's
Now however it wouldn't just be the bell bottoms that rubbed together to make that sound

I went to look for a picture of me in my mini dress with my maxi coat. It must be at my mom's because I can't find it here. I did find a picture of mom and me in 1965 and I am working on trying to post it. I have forgotten all the steps since Thursday. I WILL succeed, in time.

This is my mom and me at Easter in 1965. I would have been 12. See the lovely dead animal around her neck. LOL I sure didn't have any problem with weight then.

All right, ladies......I have to ask.....does anyone remember FISHNET STOCKINGS??? I used to love to weave my fingers into the holes ....and, of course, eventually destroy the fishnets.

How about halter tops and midrifts? I remember them from the early seventies....the halters went from neck to right above the belly button....we had them in all kinds of psychodelic colors and patterns.....all shiny satin.

Thank goodness I have no pictures. LOL

Remember when we could all wear halters....which were basically a piece of cloth that tied around your neck and at your waist.....with absolutely nothing inside for support!!!!! I remember tying scarves together to create halters.........

Do I remember all these "groovy" clothes from the 70's!! I did the halter top thing, too! Don't even want to *imagine* it now!! I had those oh-so-cool white go-go style boots that I wore with a short, short skirt...I wanted to BE Mary Tyler Moore! I really did! LOL...

Elaine, I know you are way too *young* for remembering any of this stuff!

As far as the music group goes, I'll be the groupie, okay?! My sons are the ones with the musical talent in this family....my oldest plays clarinet and has his own band where he is lead singer and plays keyboard and the youngest played trumpet through most of high school...so I have lots of experience at being the groupie!

DH is still in the shower...when he is finally finished we'll get going
I know E! is the baby dwarf so she won't remember any of those things, but I am a little fuzzy on a few of them myself. (being too young isn't a good excuse for me...I'm 37)
Could someone find a picture of the kind of coat you were talking about..midi/maxi???

I finished cleaning 2 bathrooms. Who else was doing that?

Both kids scored 2 in Solo and Ensemble so they won't be going to state level this year. I am just glad they try these things. I think the missed days of school and missed practices and rescheduled festival all played a part in it. Oh well, there is always next year.
