5 big pirates and 2 small pirates are following a map to treasure when they come to a river. It isn't a terribly big one, but it is wide and deep enough to make it impossible for them to swim across. If they don't cross the river, they can't get their treasure. They carried a small raft with them, but the raft can only hold one large pirate or 2 small pirates at the same time. How did the pirates cross the river?

The 2 small pirates go across the river
One small pirate rows back to the other side
One large pirate crosses the river
The other small pirate rows back to the other side
The 2 pirates cross the river again
And this repeats until all pirates make it across...

and afterwards the two pirates collapse and take a nap after having to do most of the work for the fat lazy pirates
