The drivers work for just tips....

How much have you tipped them in the past?

Might be too impatient for the boat...:rolleyes1

Depends: how many and how drunk :lmao:

If we load 'em up with all 4 kids and send them, around $10-$15. Throw Nana in there (and a kid on her lap) probably closer to $15.

Adults usually walk.

When it's just us, we usually walk. Our logic is this: after walking around all day, another 15 min ain't gonna kill us (well, not until we get back to the room anyway!)

Thanks for the input...

I was thinking of using them for an express ride to Hogsmeade.... :cool1:

wonder how much they would charge to take us all the way there....:dance3:

(I know they can't take us into park)

I must be a really good tipper. I gave them 5.00 a person.

It was only myself and my DD10 who used them twice. I would have done it more but DH refused. He said he wanted to save the money.

They will take you all the way to IOA or US depending on where you want to go.

Every time I see this thread title I think of tractor tipping in the movie Cars and I visualize people tipping over those rickshaws.

OMG - that's what came to my mind as well! I thought "why would anyone tip over the rickshaws? Those guys work so hard!" :worship:

I am with you. I gave em $5 per person. He was fun, cute and went with my joke when I told the kids he was gonna run us through the sprinklers. :)

I thought they just took you as far as the security check. Would they really take you from the RPH all the way to Universal?

This sounds like fun, allthough, I admit.... I feel a little embarrassed that perhaps he might have a hard time pulling my weight with my teen son (I am not a featherweight, average around 210 lbs right now, hoping to lose another 10 by my trip!)....this is just a little worry tugging at the back of my mind in the event that we would want to try this service!

I wouldn't worry. When we did this ('07 i think?), it was my DH (about the 210 weight range at the time), me (appx 130 at the time) and our son (probably in the 60-70lbs range at the time).

They offered, we accepted. When I asked DH how much to give him, he said "give him $10 for pulling my fat butt AND you 2 too".

There's other times we've put Nana and 3 kids in with her (kids=young teens)...they are very strong and the paths are relatively flat.

Trust me...they work strictly for tips. If they ain't hauling customers, they aren't making any $$. They'll offer...don't worry.

Is Rickshaw Tipping like Cow Tipping?

:lmao:

Sorry, that's the first thing that popped in my head when I read that

I had no problem, and I'm a 200+ pound girl. :rotfl:

Well, I just learned that I'm a cheapskate. Sorry, rickshaw drivers, I will atone in less than a month!
