Has anybody done the Richard Petty driving experience where you are a passenger ...I think it is the option for around $110? I am planning on doing this as a surprise for my boyfriend. Does anybody know if it is fun and worth the money? How long does it last and does it fill up fast?

I booked it for my dad, there have been several threads in this folder on this "Rookie" experience... so you can go to the top menu bar and find "Search this folder" and type in Richard Petty, and you'll come up with several threads to help you decide!!

I booked it after my parents watched the Disney special on the Travel Channel (I know they are rerunning some today !) and mom said dad wanted to try that!! I understand its a 3 - 4 hr experience... you go to a class, you ride in a van around the track, then you get to go I believe 4 times around the track... also I called the number for RIchard Petty, they are great at helping you keep it a secret - they'll send the documents in a plain white envelope, and you dont have to mail those back, just bring them with you!!

DH did this, but at the Lowe's Speedway in Charlotte, NC.

He said it was VERY exciting, but scared the bejesus out of him. He said it is amazing how close they actually get to the wall. He had a good time and says he would definitely do it again.
