Has anyone done this? I want to get this as a present to my DH for his birthday, but I can't afford the rookie experience (371., well I could, but that would cut into his anniversary present).
Anyways, has anyone ever done the riding experience where they take you around the track 3 times? If anyone has done this, was it fun? Would he enjoy it? Did you go fast? Thanks so much!!

I got the rookie experience for DH for his B-day last year and he said it was absolutely amazing. THey have a class in the beginning and then they race around 8 times (one by one)and compare race times with each other.

3 times around the track would probably last only about 2 minutes if that.

Why dont you just tell him its a combination b-day and anniversary present?

My DH wants to do the king experience now (but that will never happen--I think its like $600)

Well, here is where I am torn. For his anniversary present (20 years) I have on layaway a diamond wedding band, it's not very expensive, $350. His other one is a plain gold one (like mine) but it is so scratched up so I thought I would get him another. However, I am really leaning toward cancelling that and getting the rookie experience since he would probably like that more than a ring he wouldn't be able to wear all the time because of work.

Oh what should I do??????????

I did the Rookie Experience a few years ago as an anniversary gift from my wife. I still get chills and a big grin on my face every time I think about it. Tooling around a closed course in a 600+ HP NASCAR styled car at over 120 MPH was thrilling!! Best ride in Orlando, period.

If your husband likes racing and, especially, NASCAR, he'll thank you for it later and for years to come. I know I do!

I like rings and all but if he is a fan of the sport, go for the experience. I know that I would appreciate that more if my wife were in your shoes. As a matter of fact, my wife and I are going to Ocean City Maryland for her birthday this Saturday and then going to the Dover NASCAR race on Sunday. I am blessed to have a wife that is willing to go to races with me.

My dh did it 2 years ago and ranted and raved about it. My dh is pretty laid back so for him it was high praise.

Our kids gave DH this for Christmas a couple years ago and he LOVED it!

DH did the rookie experience a few years ago and loved it. I am sure that given a choice between a ring and doing the rookie experience he would not have chosen the ring. My DH can only wear his ring when he is not working, and he is just not as sentimental about jewelry as I am. Only you know your DH, but in our house the rookie experience would be the only way to go!!!!

moved this over to Theme Parks and attractions to help you get even more reponses :)

I gave my dh one of the experiences for combo birthday/christmas present (He says I never have to buy him another gift) I think it was the Kings experience it was less than the Ultimate experience (I think, hard to remember) It was definitely one of those once in a lifetime things.

My dh votes for the 'experience' but he's a jeweller so take his vote with a grain of pixie dust :teeth:

I did the 3 lap wonder after just going to look.Obviously not as good as driving yourself,BUT still great.

The pro's go faster and wait until they have a clear stretch so they really go for it.

I'm back in July and I'm going again.

Anybody know any women who have doing the driving part...not just the ride along????
