How was it? If your other half went, can you stay for the day and watch? Is it something you would even want to stay and watch? What about the kids?

TIA!

Definately stay & watch!

We did this for my FIL's 60th birthday a few years ago. A bunch of us went to watch & take pictures. My DH even decided to do a ride-along while we were there. They took my niece & other kids on a ride around the track in a van.

It was a blast to watch & cheer as they rode by. I don't even like car racing in the least and had a good time.

The only problem with it is that they would NOT let me drive the car FASTER!!!!

After a couple of laps, & I was confident the car would actually stick in the corners, I wanted the pace driver in front to MOVE OVER!!!

The fastest they will let you go is about 125 mph. At this speed there was just waaaaaaaay too much air underneath the gas pedal.

But it's really fun. And you can watch all over the place.

BTW, if you do the "in car" ride along, I think they will get up to about 140.

I think my dad is going to do this in December when we go. He is a die hard Nascar Fan. The walls in my parents bedroom is a Nascar Shrine for #3 and #8.

I just did it here in Texas. It was a blast. We did the 30 lap and got up to 140. There are bleachers for people to sit and watch. Have fun!

:rotfl2: That's one reason my DH doesn't want to do it in WDW. He did the Rookie Experience in Charlotte, NC and then the Experience of a Lifetime in Atlanta, GA (I think those have new names now though because they didn't have the King's Experience when we went eons ago!). Back then they posted the MAX you could go on the WDW track and DH had exceeded it on the other 2 tracks. I know each track has a maximum though but now they won't tell you what they are (I asked because I knew the WDW had been on the website before but it's not anymore).

However, if you have never done it before or don't plan on doing it anywhere else, I would highly recommend it.

DH had a blast, it was worth every penny we spent. We actually arranged our vacations to go specifically for those drives and we had the entire family watching, the company was great. I will say if you have earplugs bring them...those cars are LOUD!!!!!! They did sell earplugs out of their souvenior stand there though (at least at ours, I would think WDW would too).

I would LOVE to do this!
They would take one look at me and they would want to make me the first woman in Nascar racing! Move over Tony Stewart!

I would love to watch but I'm worried that the kids will be bored. The youngest are 5, 6 & 7. How long is the day?

my son was scheduled for the 8a.m. and was told to be there at 7:30. He was done by 11:00-11:30. He was 19 and the youngest driver there. He loved it so much that when we went to California he and my husband drove out there at California Speedway. And my younger son did the ride along. I ran around like crazy trying to vidio tape all of them
Out there my DS did 144 mph and DH did 142 mph! The son that did the ride along went 165 mph!! The looks on their faces as they get out of the cars says it all :teeth:

If the kids like watching fast cars I think they'll enjoy it!!

Oh darn,
I was thinking about doing that, but those speeds are ridiculous: I sometimes drive faster on my way to work. :confused3
So I guess for Autobahn-seasoned people it´s not worth the money.

Sorry couldnt resist but um...there are already women drivers in Nascar. Maybe not the Nextel cup but different branches like Busch ...its all still Nascar! lol

Does the Richard Petty Driving Experience at WDW have a gift shop??
I have friends who are HUGE Nascar fans and when I was in WDW back in March I was wondering.
