Richard Petty driving experience ??

I'm thinking about doing this for my DH's birthday-my DH is 6'4" and average build-will he be totally uncomfortable or okay in one of the stock cars??

My husband has done this twice (Atlanta and WDW). He has another one planned
for next October. He absolutely loves it!

These are actual stock cars. Michael Waltrip is a NASCAR driver who is about 6' 4".
I know there are several cars and I believe they are set up to accomdate different
people sizes.

My one suggestion is to be sure to get him the "Rookie Experience" where he actually
gets to drive the race car. The $49 experience is a ride-along one. He'll need to
be able to drive a manual transmission. They time each lap and give them a
certificate with their lap times and fastest time. It's several hundred dollars and
well worth it. You won't believe how happy you will make him!

My DH is 6'1" and a little bigger than average build. He said it was a tight squeeze but ok once he got in the car. He said with your DH that he will be really tight in the car. You have to wear all the racing gear including a helmut. His sugestion is to call the 800 number and talk to them there. On another note, my DH just went 2 weeks ago - I sent him for our anniversary. I surprised him with the ticket at our anniversary dinner at CRT! It was awesome. He LOVED it. He actually got a little nervous as he said that the car kept feeling as if it was slipping out from under them. He said it was awesome and can't wait to try the driving experience but was glad he did the ride along first! I was so lucky, I was planning on buying the ticket and a wonderful person here sent me a ride along ticket. The genoerosity in the boards here is like no other! HTH. Chris.

I have done the Petty experience twice, once in WDW and the other in Loudon NH. I was great!!! in DW my average speed was 128 mph
