HAS ANYONE OUT THERE TRIED THE RICHARD PETTY DRIVING EXPEREINCE AT WDW? I WAS THINKING OF GETTING THE "ROOKIE EXPERIENCE" FOR MY HUSBAND FOR CHRISTMAS.

Haven't done it at WDW, but we did it at Homestead. It was great. The staff was very friendly and family oriented. They even took the little kids who were there out for a van ride around the track. DH loved it. Great photos, too!

Both my husband and my dad did it when we were there in May. The LOVED it. They are still talking about. I don't know the name of the level they got, but they did the one where they could drive the car for a few laps. It took about three hours or so. They said everything was so interesting and fun.

I bought the driving experience at WDW for my hubby for our wedding gift. He had a blast. You start in a class, then go around with an instructor in a van...then you go out on the track and follow an instuctor. The instructor will speed up (hence letting you go faster), depending on how he feels you are doing. He got to drive a total of 10 laps (he has the certificate/picture on the wall..so I checked). I think it cost around $300- $350, but this was in 1999. He has since done it out our local track, New Hampshire. I think I was crazy buying this for his wedding gift and having him do it on our honeymoon!!
