We are going on our 5th DCL cruise in Nov. and have read that Rich Purpura, Michael Harrison and Gary Delena have been the entertainment onboard recently. We've seen them proform each time on the ship and although I laughed so hard it hurt the first 2 times, the jokes and routines are the same so it's getting old. Gary Delena has changed his act a bit cruise to cruise but does anyone know if Rich and Michael have changed it up a bit or is it the same and we should skip the show and find something else to do?

Ditto. That is the one negative if you are a regulary DCL cruiser. Same acts over and over.

Does anyone know who will be doing the Cabaret shows the week of Oct 28th??

We were on the Magic 9/16-9/23 and Michael Harrison was onboard. He did the exact same skits as last time we saw him. We did however enjoy John Charles. I think he replaced Gary Delana and he was fantastic. It was good to see some new acts this time. We did complain to Andy the cruise director that they need to change the performers more since there are so many repeat cruisers.

I'm glad to hear that something has changed as far as the entertainers. We were on the 6/3 Magic, our 3rd cruise in as many years. My sentiments are the same as the OP. The routines were really funny the first time, still pretty funny the second time, a let-down the 3rd time. As has been mentioned before, since DCL prides itself on having so many repeat cruisers, why are the same performers allowed to stay on without refreshing/updating their routines at least once a year??? :confused3 :confused3

The nightly shows in the Walt Disney theater, as well as the caberet shows, are one of the things I enjoy most on the cruise. We pay top dollar on DCL. I understand that the big production shows can't be changed that often, but it can't be asking too much for the comedians to freshen up their acts from time to time.

I hope DCL execs are reading this and paying heed. :listen:

Thanks for the opportunity to share my views.

If they are, my family and I are available as secret shoppers. :rotfl: Will work for stateroom!

Does anyone know who the performers are on the Wonder, or do they go back & forth on both ships?

Has Chuck Gunter returned? We were on the 12-27-03 Magic Eastern, and it was the last week of his contract with Disney. I gathered it wasn't a happy end, Disney put him in Diversions for his second show of the cruise (Chuck is a juggler, nothing like having to juggle in a room with a 12 foot ceiling, without a raised stage, and with kids sitting close, did I mention he juggled knives?.) His first show in the Walt Disney Theater was awesome. Rich Pupura was also on board, and his show was a notch below Chuck's. I can see where it would get old a second, third or fourth time you saw it.

Anyone on the October 28th Magic voyage. I just got word from that DCL that John Charles (new to us), Taylor Mason (seen once) and David Dimuzzio (seen twice) are scheduled. They said that it could change, but that is who is slated right now.

That is biggest week point for DCL. Need greater variety. The first 2 years it was exactly same performers with same act. 3rd year 2 of 3 were same. Finally last year we got a couple new acts.

Sad, but true.

Rich added some new material and kept some of the old material. We really enjoyed watching all of his shows!!!!

I agree!!! This is one of the main complaints I have with DCL! Enough already!

I don't want to book another cruise only to see the same entertainers!

Same shows all 4 cruises for us!

I'll agree with this as well. We have been on several Disney Cruises and have seen both Harrison and Purpura numerous times. Their act is almost always the same. We are going again in October and I know we won't go to either of their shows if they're the entertainment. I am surprised that Disney keeps them considering how many people are repeat cruisers!

I'm kinda surprised I'm not alone, I was sure I would be flamed. It's good to see that they have a couple newer people in the next couple weeks.

I've seen officers in the back of Rockin Bar D watching the shows. They must have seen them so many times so you would think it would occur to them to ask the performers to change it up a bit. We found we did very little for entertainment at night now because it was all the same. I know they can't easily change the production numbers but comic's routines, 70's, 80's match your mate questions can easily be changed.
