Hey ladies, I need some help today....and no, not shopping help. :rotfl2:

I know I've seen some really great use of ribbon on LOs, but I can't remember how it was used. My LOs are looking boring & plain to me. :confused3

Other than the folded ribbon attached with either staples or brads to the edge of a page, tag or frame, how else have you used ribbon? Does anyone have a LO that they could show me how they've used ribbon? All ribbon, but especially some of the wider ribbon. (I got some great wide ribbons from the ribbon swap we had a while ago, but I can't figure how to use it!!)

TIA :wave2:

If I could figure out how to use the scanner to scan a 12 X 12 LO, I could show you some of my pages, but I don't understand how to do that.

I've used ribbon on the edges as borders, and then spelled out the name of the theme for that page in foamie letters or cardstock letters. I've also used it on top of a cardstock border for extra color. For my "Main St. USA" pages, I used the ribbon (you had some on your CJ) that has blue, red, and yellow stars on top of a blue cardstock border. Then I cut out letters for Main St. USA and placed on top of that. I've also used it in the middle of a page and placed pix above and below it.

Does that help any? I know, a picture is worth a thousand words, but I can't figure out how to scan my LO's. :confused3

Thanks Sweet Maxine! The description does help, but as you say a picture would be more so. I have a vague idea I guess...the problem comes when I try to implement it. :confused3

I did use some ribbon across a page recently & put letters on it. I put the letters through the Xyron. What do you use to attach both the letters you put on the ribbon & on the ribbon itself?

BTW - Most scanners won't do the 12x12 pages. How about taking a picture with your digital camera?

Okay, but you have to walk me through it. I haven't figured out how to get pix posted anywhere. I used to have the azaleas in my sig, but it took me forever, even with all the instructions!

As far as attaching the ribbon, I use those little sticky squares like you get from Wal Mart. I use a glue stick to get the letters to stay. It seems to work better for me, and I have not had much luck using the little Xyron. It seems to make so much waste!

I finally figured out how to post pictures here!
so here are some with ribbons...

I have more at 2peas - but when I tried to put them here - they made them WAY to big!

Go on two peas and "view by technique/product", click on "ribbons" (middle column) and WALLLAAA!!!

Thanks! That will be really helpful. :teeth:

I've always avoided searching on TwoPeas. My job used to be to test computer software & Websites....not only to see if they worked properly, but also to see if they were intuitive. Let me tell you, their search feature isn't all that intuitive! Because I had so much trouble in the beginning I've never really gone back to try again.

Sweet Maxine - I'll get back to you later. I just got in & have to make dinner, go pick up DH, make sure DD is okay with homework & then I'm going to crash! I'm soooo tired!

With ribbon I always use Art Accentz Terrifically Tacky Tape. It comes in all sorts of widths. Basically it is superglue double sided tape. When you see it in the stores (LSB, Michaels, ect..) it will be red but that is the protective over the tape. It works AWESOME!!! :Pinkbounc It also works well for your metal embellishments.

Thanks for the tip Marypoppinsiam! The next time I run out of one of my adhesives I'll have to check that out. Of course that could be in the year 2008! LOL During a swap back in the Spring I needed something to stick my tags together...the problem was the top layer had several eyelets & I guess there wasn't enough paper so I really needed something strong! I went through about 5 different ones before I found one that worked.

I've seen them run ribbon through the Xyron on DIY Scrapbooking, but it seems to wasteful to me! I cram so much stuff onto the little strip of tape when I use it - it's hysterical!

BTW - If anyone is looking for a liquid adhesive that's strong...Aleene's makes a photo safe adhesive. Silly me - I thought it would be thick like Tacky Glue, but it isn't. :( I wish it worked like their Tacky, but it works well if you have the patience to sit & hold it a bit. Oh - and I've used a pH pen to test Tacky Glue and it is definitely acidic!
