Ribbon - do you actually use it? Solution posted.

I went to the $1.00 store and found a pkg of 2 flexabile chopping matts.
took them home cut out a small square. Rounded the corners. Punched in a hole on top

then two holes across from each other. used an exacto knife to connect them (horizontial) did this 3 times and tried putting a ribbon in it Was perfect.

I am thnking I will cut the rolls of ribbon to 1 yard each.

Having arthrits I did as many as I could. figured out slowly I will do more.

Here's a layout I did last night using ribbon.

My page neeced something so I added striped ribbon to go across the page then I added pink ribbon with hearts to come down the side. If you notice I didn't bring the pink ribbon all the way down. I cut a \/ at the bottom give it a finished look.

I am a ribbon junkie. I had ribbon everywhere. I used to store it in plastic containers, but I had to rummage through so many of them to find what I was looking for that it made me crazy.

I decided to build me a ribbon cabinet.

I wanted the cabinet to mount on the wall above my scrapbook desk. I made it 2 feet tall, 4 feet wide and 8" deep.

I drilled holes in the sides of the cabinet to fit dowels that the ribbon spools go onto.

I also hung a few cup hooks in the cabinet to hold zip lock bags containing ribbon bits and pieces that are no longer on a spool.

I then went to one of our local salvage yards and picked up some old vintage shutters that I used to make the doors for the cabinet.

It holds over 100 spools of ribbon and has room for more.

There was also enough room in there to mount more cup hooks that I hang my decorative scissors from.

The cabinet looks really neat, and now my ribbons are organized and out of sight.

I thought the ribbon ring wouldn't be a good idea for me because of the 2 young kitties, but thanks to someone elses post, I realized I could hang it in the closet where I'm moving a lot of my supplies to anyway. I'll be making my own version also.

I'll be glad to get the ribbon out of the small drawer its stuffed in. Iron it & get it hung up. I think I don't use it because its always wrinkled and creased when I take it out.
