So true Gail. I am about 40 mins from the RI border in SE Mass, and we simply inundated with all the coverage of this tragedy. Because it seems to be on 24/7 here because it is local, it is hard to remember that because of the scope of this tragedy, this is NATIONAL news.

I also think that the govenor of RI is doing a wonderful job, in keeping with the sense of community. He kept reminding me of an uncle on his news conferences when he was imploring people who had been to the show, and escaped, and just went home, to "CALL YOUR LOVED ONES"

I still have this horrible pit in my stomach about this, and am on news coverage overload.

I too have been very impressed with our new governor, he has handled a very difficult situation with dignity and consideration for the families. Following the tone of the story link, he & I worked at the same bank many years ago.

The tragedy has saddened and horrified the whole nation, but of course it's nothing compared to those who live there and who are dealing with the aftermath. . .
