rewards vs points

I just recently rec'd my Disney Visa Card, so I'm new to the rewards program. I've been reading on the discussion boards about various points some people have been receiving.

Are these points through the new card or are there other programs out there to earn bonus points.

Are they referring to DVC points? If so, DVC=Disney Vacation Club (a Disney version of a vacation timeshare program). The points are their usage points.
