I work for a very small business and the owner is exactly like this. He wouldn't think a thing of asking you to do something like this too. He feels that he owns everything related to the business and if you try to say otherwise he accuses you of stealing from him or wasting his money. The only way to work here is to keep your mouth shut. In small businesses the owner rules. There are not many employee rights.
This is a common mind set of small business owners. I know a lot of them. They are not employees so can't really empathize with their employees. None of the rules apply to them. And they deserve everything, since they were so much smarter than everyone because they started a successful small business. In fact I heard a group of them joking that if taxes are raised on small business owners it won't really affect them, they'll just cut their employees pay. It's the old adage "He who has the gold makes the rules."
