Rewards Credit Card to buy points?

A friend of mine recently told me that he purchased an interest in the Marriot Vacation Club using his Marriot rewards credit card. He said that he got so many rewards points that he was able to redeam them for several hotel stays through Marriot. This got me to thinking; can I purchase points resale using the same strategy? I have a rewards card that I use for almost everything, and since I pay the balance in full I don't pay interest on those purchases.
Have any of you tried to purchase resale points in this way? Should I look into a Disney rewards card?

I was not able to charge my resale purchase but I was able to charge my purchase direct from DVC.

I paid for my directly with DVC through my American Advantage Mastercard, so I earned 1 miles on American for every dollar spent. Helps get me closer to free tickets to fly down there. I was told at the time you can pay with Visa or Mastercard (no Discover). I don't know if they take American Express.

to my knowledge only DVC takes Credit Cards... mine was resale (would have really liked to get those FF points)

You can use your credit card to purchase from Disney but I have never seen a reseller that will take a credit card.

I used my Disney Visa to purchase DVC through Disney last week. I'll use those points to buy my tickets for our next trip - it really amounts to only a 1% discount, but everything helps.!
