Hi everyone

just thought I would share after doing rewards programs everyday since I found out about them back in 1999(POINTCLICK)I burned out and I mean crashed and burned folks that's right ME!!!!!I told myself it was our shop we were really busy with the Christmas season(and it was partly)but that had never stopped me befor.

I have not done a single program for 2 MONTHS checked my accts yesterday.

But yesterday I did RTV and then last night I did Blink and Milesource.I am taking this real slow so as not to burn out completely....LOL

You guys are the best and the rewards board is home so I just wanted to share and find out how many others have suffered from this BURNOUT?????

Mal

Glad you're back where you belong.

I'm never suffered from total, crash and burn, burnout. I find if I take a few "mental health" days in a row, that I can usually get back into rewards.

Welcome back, you've been missed.

Glad you are back, Mal! :)

I suffered Burn Out as well soon after 9/11...I did not even want to continue and along with what had happened, I just took time off from them...In January, I started them up again and donated all my points in every account to the cause and then just started fresh...I also started planning a trip to Disney so I could get motivated to try and do the programs again! :) It worked and now I am full force once again!

Everyone needs to take time off once in awhile...I am glad you are back again! :)

Mal - I'm impressed - I've crashed & almost burned a couple of times & I've only been doing the programs for about a year! I usually find myself crashing when my work load gets a bit heavy or when I can no longer walk through my house because there is too much stuff laying around or when there is no food in pantry because I would rather clik than make a grocery list!

Anyway, the motivation of upcoming trips helps. I just cashed out for the first time on Milesource so that helped too. Of course now I'm down to about 70 points there so that's kind of depressing.

Glad to have you back here. Your posts were really helpful to me when I started out.

Happy Clicking!

I'm done also. I cashed out on the sites that I regulary done day in and day out. I just do mypoints bonus mail. I have accumulated some $ and gift certificates for our trip in Aug. Sure I would like more but I have 2 kids and between, school, homework and activities I couldn' put them on the back burner. I felt to much pressure to get the rewards in for the day.
I still read all the boards every day and enjoy it. Thanks

Mal,

we suffered from a minor burnout right after our trip in October. I don't think we started back up until just before Christmas.

We even started in slowly and are now just getting back to about 75% of what we were doing. That might be for a couple of reasons though. One: once you cash out you can tell where your time is best spent. Two: Most of the rewards programs seem to stink lately. It's a lot tougher to earn rewards than when we first started in Jan 2001.

We're just hoping that the rewards biz gets better this year.

Count me in as one of those suffering from reward program burnout. Milesource is the only program I do regularly, and I'm seriously considering giving that one up. I do MyPoints and Netflip occasionally, but it's hard to get interested in those when it takes so long to cash out. Is anyone else suffering burnout?

Hi Mal!

I had definite burnout after 9/11 but went back to Mypoints for my Christmas shopping. I also went back to RTV after they went live, but I had taken a long hiatus from them due to the lack of TV reception in this area (Near NYC). I cashed out of Milesource for some movie tickets, and that was it. Nothing more. Now I check Mypoints daily because I have free time at work (lol) and I still play RTV when I've seen things the night before. I'm not too happy with them since they give you a chance to win instead of letting you work towards something big.

I think we all had a bit of a psychic letdown and needed time to get our heads together.

Take care,
Adele

I've been on hiatus as well. Like jdads said, it's just been less lucrative. :( I started back up after Christmas when I got a new computer...at least I can get done faster now. ;)

I just cashed out on Netflip and I think I'm done with that one for good...I've just been spending too much time on that one on a daily basis.

Glad your back, Mal.

I too have suffered from burnout. I never totally crashed and burned, but around Christmas time, I just had no interest in clicking every day, so went a month or so w/out doing any programs. Now, I am back to doing most of them, and I don't care if I miss or day or not.

I started out fast and furious after I found this board, but found I was spending way too much time on the computer ~ and it felt like such a chore to do all the rewards. Now I do what I can when I can. I try to do blink every day and the Milesource lucky 7 and trivia if nothing else, but that's about it, when I have time, I do mypoints, click, rewards, etc. I like Nesteggz because there's not much computer time involved with that one, just time to download the coupons and that's it.

I burned out along time ago,, I'm down to doing milesource only so i cash out soon,, then what ?? I 'm thinking about selling on ebay to get alittle pocket change,,who know's maybe with all the junk i have,, it might make me independently wealthy:D :D ,, yea right...I have to give you credit though,, for sticking with it after pointclick,, That would of scared me off for good,, I only lost the money in the account,, not out of my pocket..Hope things pick back up for you and maybe things will improve with the rewards:) Laurie

P.s. did you get the email i sent 2 weeks ago about the M&M stuff ???

I suffered burn out too! After my Sept trip I have had a hard time getting motivated. The rewards programs have changed. They take along time to get returns now. Does anyone remember when you could get a $10 GC from Freeride every 2 weeks, it was great! I deceided to just do milesource everyday(hopefuly)and finish Search catcus(I have a couple accounts pasted the $13 mark, one at $17.
Ok, lets all say it at once, I can do it, I can do it!!!

I was getting burn out and wasn't doing hardly any...doing it all at work cause I didn't have internet at home....It was so sloooooow on the computer at work. Now I have DSL at home it's so much faster.....I'm hot & heavy into it b/c I'm working on an October trip & would like to get at least all out eats free.....I get tired of it even still though. When I start feeling burnt I stick in a WDW planning video and I've got my DGD's picture w/Rafiki from last Aprils trip to spur me on. Will I do it after trip? I don't know....I hope I can, b/c I know we'll try to go back in 2003. I think only WDW can make me sit and do this after working at computer all day.....I don't know how I'm going to do it in the Spring b/c I've got to have dirt under my fingernails until mid summer or I'm not normal.
