Revolution

Don't forget Echo Base.

But the line of the night was when Monroe wanted to show Governor XXXXXXXX (name withheld for those who haven't seen the ep) of California who was boss. I laughed out loud.

I caught that too! I was like 'wait a minute...what?' :rotfl:

Monay night was another great episode. I like how they are using Giancarlo Esposito's range as an actor. He can go from methodical, to angry, to care free, to panicked, to rage. And that was just the middle 15 minutes of the episode.

It was cool to see that there is a figure head for rallying and recruiting. And the action sequeces were well done.

Plus... There was a HUGE revelation.

I hate that there was such HUGE gap in this season. We've DVRed all the episodes this Spring, but after trying to watch the first new one of the season a couple times and not feeling the love for the show anymore, I'm not sure we're going to end up watching anymore. I think it was a mistake to do the season like that...they lost our interest just that fast.

I wasnt crazy about it either, but it's not that different then what many cable shows do. The advantage is that you don't have any repeats, which is so common in most shows. IMO, it would have been better to shorten the break by a month or so. They could do what shows like Lost & 24 did and not start their seasons until Jan so they can run straight thru till the end.

Hopefully with the show being popular now, they can plan it better for next season and figure a way to shorten the break by starting the season a few weeks later or ending it a few weeks earlier.

As far as the last episode -- not a fan of how the power on / off switch works....really, litlle virus size computers floating around the sky?!?! What's next, someone telling me the basis for the Force is just a bunch of micro-organisms in your blood?!?!?! :darth: :yoda:

I am glad that we will get to see some of the other republics....Georgia looks like a much different place than Monroe's republic.

The view of Georgia kkind of reminded me of the different districts in Hunger Games.

I have a question:
Where are they getting fuel? Fuel goes rancid after a time, so how do they have a stash after 15 years?

I wondered that also (assuming you're talking the helicopters & vehicles that haven't been started in 15 years). What about motor oil, transmission oil, engine coolant, and all the other liquids needed to keep a motor running.

yep, that's what I'm thinking. I get that you have to suspend belief a little bit but this is way beyond that.
Fan belts dry up and rot, motors will rust out from exposure. Brake lines let go, etc.
Can you tell DH used to be a mechanic? LOL

I'm all caught up now, to episode 13. But I think I missed the view of Georgia. Was that at the end?

Fuel can be filtered, and if it's been in an airtight container it should be at least usable. You notice that they haven't been operating those helicopters at any significant altitude -- close to the ground means you can handle fuel issues better by landing.

For the belts, hoses, and gaskets, well... MILSPEC parts are often packed to last for years and years. It's sunlight and air that break them down, and proper storage can take care of that.

Rusting wouldn't happen to non-ferrous metals, which make up quite a bit of most aircraft. For cars and other vehicles, there should be enough of them laying around that you could scavenge parts, and clean up the rusty ones. If they're in too bad of a shape, then scavenge another one until you get what you need.

Mrs. Tex and I both had to laugh when Rachel and Aaron took off on their own to go to the tower. Can anyone else say, "There go Frodo and Sam, on their way to Barad Dur?" But we still don't miss any episodes!

Anybody else still watching????

I am wondering why the Google guy is such a big deal to everybody. Any ideas?

I'm still watching. From that article, I'm guessing he worked on some foundational aspect of the technology that the tower uses while he was at MIT. It'll be interesting to see where he fits. Early on in the series I was pretty sure he'd be killed off early because he seemed just sort of tacked on to the group and so incapable when it comes to self-defense, but I love that he's so in the middle of it all now.

Anyone else wondering about Charlie's parentage lately with all the Miles/Rachel stuff going on?

Hmmmmm....... hadn't thought about that........

I love Revolution! So excited for the finale tomorrow. I'm most interested in the Rachel/Miles dynamic and their backstory. I'm looking forward to learning more about that next season. And yes, the thought of Charlie's parentage crossed my mind.

So Randall was a good guy?!?!?!?

See, that's the thing - almost every character in this show is shades of good and bad. One of the frustrating things, but one of the things that keeps it interesting too.
