Revival of the angry thread!

Just have to vent!!! After umpteen years of trying to explain it, I've come to the realization that the IT guy in charge of my database will NEVER realize what I need, and doesn't want to, as he repeatedly tells me when I try to explain it to him "you don't need that".

And he dug a further hole today, when I said that a customer got innacurate data because of a failure of them (IT) to tell us about a change they made. "You mean real customers see this stuff??"

GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

When I worked for Verizon in the website support venue, our IT guy was a complete & utter moron. He made things worse instead of better. He had no degree in the Comp. Sci. area, but he had a BA in education - so I guess because he had a college degree unrelated to his job, that qualified him to be an IT.

Unfortunately for me, I now have to serve as my own IT person. But I am learning - by trial & error!! When I'm unsuccessful, I have to call for help at $125/hour - so I try everything I can think of, first.

I am now my own IT guy, cable guy, plumber guy, medical maintenance guy, and electrical guy. I have found in all of the above, I am not only cheaper but get the job done faster and am more satisfied with the work.

MASH was one of the all time greatest shows on TV, in my opinion. Besides that, Hawkeye was a nickname of mine that followed me around in my Army career for some reason.

Not having the pleasure of meeting you yet, I would visualize that you are pretty much a cross between your avatar pic and your siggy pic,,

It started with a field exercise where the recreation I organized was an interesting mix of booze and card games with my sidekick, Bruce Joseph (BJ, get it?) while I wore my Hawaiian shirt while off duty.

Just need to vent.... My DH has been in a very particularly nasty emotional state for about 3 months now. No matter what I say, he comes back with sharp, cutting remarks. I try my best to ignore them, but sometimes it just overwhelms me & I get nasty right back at him. Then the shouting match begins. I know the economy, our IRA dumping, and other things are eating at him, and therefore, I become the brunt of his frustration. So....
GUYS of the board, give me some insite as to the workings of the male brain. If you get in this state of mind, how do you wish your wife would react to you?

It was so bad yesterday that, we were almost to the entrance to FtW to ride bikes, and we turned around and went home. I told him that I couldn't take another day of his bad mood - so we went home. He took off for about 7-8 hours which he's never done in all 35 years we've been married. So I need suggestions from the men on the board.

In my case, my mind only concentrates on one thing at a time. I know you ladies can multitask, but not me. If I am concentrating on something and my wife interrupts, it messes me up. It's like shifting into another gear and I have to refocus on what she has said, then shift gears again to refocus on my original problems. It aggravates me, although it is not her fault at all.

If I was Rick I would've waited until after the bike ride lol. Debbie, I seriously doubt after 35 years that it's directly pointed towards you. Between job changes and IRA losses things are very stressful. From a man's point of view, he feels responsible to take care of the both of you. In these times we are in now he could possibly be feeling like he's losing the battle.

I've been divorced for 7 years from my daughter's mom and I still feel like I have to take care of things. She's had some financial hardships recently herself and I've helped her out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I had it to help with. Like everyone else, I've had financial hardships myself because some clients have been late pay to me. I feel though that if it affects Annie I need to step in.

I would give him some space first of all, and any good news that affects the 2 of you let him know asap. If things do not improve, by all means tell him to see his Dr. He could possibly be having depression problems. There is nothing to be embarassed by taking meds if indeed that's what he needs. With all the doom and gloom I'm sure the anti depressent co.'s are doing super. Good luck.

I'll try to call later today. Sounds like maybe some Zoloft or something like that might help. Depression is a nasty thing and that's what it sounds like. Jim, I'm surprised at you - I can still multi task - drink a beer and eat chips.

Donnie's advice is good too. Plus when you get older you get angrier sometimes for no reason - men that is - hence the term angry old man. I've noticed a little of that - but if you recognize it you can do something about it.




BTW Mery & Kevin bought a house and are closing on Friday (they hope).

I'll take a compliment from you BDD.

It wasn't always like this trust me. It's taken a lot of time to grow up and feel this way. Over the past couple years she's also turned to alcohol and admitted to my mother she has a drinking problem. I called last week and told her I'll do whatever I can to get her some help. Unfortunately she thinks she can do it herself. I'll be waiting for the fall when it happens. Annie has gotten to where she doesn't like spending her weekends or anytime for that matter at her mom's. Hopefully something will change soon.
