Revival of the angry thread!

I've actually got a pin from the Democratic Convention in 1956 courtesy of my Grandfather who was a hard core Dixiecrat.

My generation refers to those years as the olden days.:lmao:

I was 10 for his second inauguration..... I didn't have a computer then, or a cell phone. I think we had a TV, but I don't remember how big it was - probably 12". I was disadvantaged.

Repubs or Dems, it's both the same, heck, last I checked, McCain even decided to start screaming "CHANGE" halfway through his campaign.

The media is critical on everyone, that is their job. The Repubs just didn't like it when they were getting blasted for 8 years, but they tend to forget the Clinton was blasted as well, as was Reagan, Carter, you name it. That's the job of the media, they find the stories, we choose to read them. Honestly, the year long coverage up to the election was insane, I was so sick of it, but not nearly as much as I was sick of hearing about Monica Lewinski during the last year or so of Clintons term.

There are differences between the two, but in the end they're both out for themselves. I don't for one second think Obama is the Messiah, and there wasn't one second I was going to vote for any ticket with Palin on it. In the end, someone always gets screwed. You know, kind of like when Disney "changes" something...lol ;)

Yes McCain did start screaming CHANGE,,but I really don't think he would have hired the entire Clinton admin., INCLUDINGthe CLINTONS !! But we'll never know,,will we.

And Clinton NEVER got blasted by the TV news media til he got caught redefining the definitions of sexual terms with Monica,,THATS when he got blasted, not before and not after, only the crap from the fall out of his sex scandal and his lieing which cost us MILLIONS !

And it is the job of the TV news media to be critical ,,and I've yet to see them be critical of Hussein since he started his campaign to this very day, I reck'n he really does walk on water,,,
yup, I think we are fix'n to take us a hard look into repeat'n the Carter years.

MHOOBY

I am going to have to disagree that there has been nothing critical of Obama in the press. I saw lots of negative stuff about Obama, same with McCain. And positive for both. The only one they went overboard with was Palin, that was just nuts.

There was MORE media coverage of Obama, but what do people expect? This was the first non-white guy that actually MIGHT become President, of course he's going to get more coverage. McCain was boring, Obama was engaging, why wouldn't the press flock to him?

I just hate the whole "blame the media" stuff. It's like trying to say people are too stupid to think for themselves, and that only the Republicans can make a smart choice. Is that what the Republican party has come to, blaming the media? No wonder they're losing elections.

P.S. I agree, I don't like that Obama just seems to be re-hashing Clintonites. Although I think that Hillary for Secretary of State was a great choice. That doesn't really show "change" now does it.

However, one cannot judge change until one has time to prove it ;)

Hilary Clinton is no more qualified to be Secretary of State than she was to be Senator from New York - a state she never lived in until she decided that would be her best chance to win a seat in the senate. She is an opportunist who managed to mess up an already ailing health care system in the United States when her ignorant husband appointed her to come up with a national health plan, which she enlisted her buddies from the insurance companies to come up with a plan that would make them millions at the expense of the American public then dropped the ball when it was apparent the American taxpayer wasn't as stupid as she thought and wouldn't buy their crap. But I really don't have much of an opinion about this.

its good ta be back fellas......:lmao:

New York was the only state liberal enough to take her in. She didn't stand a chance anywhere else. Suddenly, she's a New Yorker..yeah right.
And I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee...:rolleyes1

Okay..sorry about that..no offense to anyone from Alabama..or to banjos..or knees!

To be honest, about 90% of the people in government aren't qualified to be in their given position ;)

That being said, a Secretary of State needs wide international connections, and she (and her husband) definitely have those. That was why I was happy with the choice. Do I think she'll do a good job? I think she'll do "ok" (tbh, I could care less about Hillary Clinton, but I do recognize that she is one of the smarter politicians).

P.S. I really never cared that she wasn't from New York. Quite a few Senators have won Senate seats that weren't from the states they were elected, nobody seemed to care about them.

P.S.S. I never would vote for Hillary...lol

Chris....a lot of people are too stupid to think for themselves. Why do you think politicians send their reps into the poorest neighborhoods with $$$ to buy votes? As far as I know this practice is not illegal, but it certainly is immoral.

When a voter is bought by a politician that voter is displaying either ignorance of what a citizen in a democracy must understand or that voter is just morally corrupt.

I've talked to a lot of people who cast their votes for President based upon what they were told by their religious leaders, by their union leaders, by race or party affiliation, by any means other than their own educated decision.

People are basically....sheep! They will follow anyone who is willing to lead them.

Now, I've gotta run and make that phone call to buy a "Sham-Wow", cause they are only giving me 20 minutes and...."they can't do this all day".
