I was gonna do a search, but that function is down. Soooo....

We're staying at AKL for four nights, Dec. 29 - Jan. 1. Yahoo! Using a boatload of DVC points to do it (but if you're a DVC member, don't lecture me. I know it was way too extravagant, but we've never done anything this lavish at WDW before.)

Just wondering if any of you sweet folks have gone the concierge route at this particular resort.

EDIT: AAACK! Just saw Richyams' thread. Sorry about being redundant. Anyone else out there got an opinion???

Concierge is the way to go and make sure to go on the Sunrise Safari. It's only for concierge guests at the AKL and it costs extra, but it's worth it.

I've stayed at AKL concierge 3 times and enjoyed every time!

Here is a LINK to the portion of my site about the AKL. At the top of the page you'll find several links, including Concierge and the Sunrise Safari. :) Hope you like the pictures.

Although I used cash for my AKL conceirge stay, it would be worth the points. All those offerings were great, the safari was excellent and the savannah view was amazing!!

The food is very good and they keep putting out more when it runs out. They didn't replinish the wine very often though. We found the lounge to be very small. I also didn't like having to ask for soda and wait for someone to bring it out in a glass. We are probably too used to the service at Polynesian where you get a fridge in the room and they keep soda and bottled water out all the time. On the plus side...the food offerings were better than Polynesian's.

I think you will find using your points for AKL concierge was well worth it. We loved it. Hubby and I did this over a long weekend...we can't wait to do it again!

The treats, the people, the restaurants, the resort itself...just soak it all up, it is great!

Enjoy!

Its probably on the second page here by now, but I just returned and posted a review. In a nutshell, it was great. We used points for a long weekend, it was WAY too many points, but well worth every one of them.

The food was great and different every night.
