reviews of silver lake resort?

we have friends who have been offered a two bedroom condo at silver lake resort. We know nothing about this place. Has anyone stayed there recently? any info would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Best location in the whole area to get to get to Disney....a little older Time Share but very nice. They have been building new condos so you might get a brand new one...They have very nice master bedrooms and baths with big showers and jacuzzi tubs...Pool is simple and nice..nothing real fancy...



So the really big plus is 3 minutes to Disney via Sherberth road...Make sure you ask at the front desk where to turn left off Black Lake Road onto Sherberth and not hassel any of the traffic on HWY 192...Go for it if the price is right..Ted

We were there a year ago. I agree with the above descriptions... very nice. We'd go back.

We're staying there four weeks this year. The condos are well maintained and soundproofed. The 2 bedroom units are huge! The decor is plain and not very special, but the units are comfortable enough. We love having the full kitchen, washer/dryer, whirlpool tub, large walk-in shower, screened porch, king size bed with TV in the master bedroom.

The resort is small and has fewer activities than say, Orange Lake or Vistana. They may start construction on new buildings sometime in the future (if they haven't already).

The best part is the short drive with little traffic to Disney property. I hate driving, but frequent visits to the water parks, Downtown Disney andAnimal Kingdom Lodge make a car rental the most convenient way to get around.

Sorry I got into this thread so late because I love raving about Silver Lake. We stayed there last year and are going back in a week. We love it!!!
We had a 2-bedroom villa and yes, it is very large...very comfortable. Honestly, I don't know if it's considered the old or new units, (we were on the top floor of 3-story units), but we could not have been happier.
The drive is terrific...and the property is adjacent to Animal Kingdom Lodge....so you get some nice views!
The pool is wonderful and we loved the cabana snack bar. Good food....good drinks, alcoholic and non....even a nice breakfast buffet on one of the days.
Very, very excited about going back!!!!
