I have an ADR at Maya (because we are staying at CSR) at 5pm, and then plan on heading to MVMCP. We are also on DDP if anyone is wondering!

I was hoping I could get some reviews on it. The CM on the phone seemed to love it, but the more I look around, others seem to HATE it.

So now, I'm nervous.....please help me out so I know whether to change my dining.

Thanks!

Had breakfast (no dinners) there on Sunday before checking out of CSR. The breakfast was decent, but the service was excellent.

I'm sorry:sad2: ..but we ate there for dinner this past week and it was the worst meal we have ever eaten. It really is the only TS meal that we have had on Disney property that I can say was really bad.
The waitress was a real grouch and the food was terrible. My DH had the pork empanadas and they were sooo dry he could barely cut them. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was ok. DH had the duck for his entree and he said it was terrible. The mole sauce that accompanied the duck was frightening..:scared1: I had the steak/fish. The fish was bland and the steak tasted like ashes. :scared: I couldn't swallow the one bite that i took of it . Both my kids had pasta with 'sauce' on the side. The 'Sauce' was a can of tomatoes poured into a bowl. It was a huge dissapointment.
All that being said, the manager did come over and sit with my husband when he found out how dissapointed we were. He was very sincere and apologetic and even gave us back our TS credits for the 4 of us, which I thought was very kind of him. I also have read reviews from people that loved it. So maybe we just hit it on a bad night....a really bad night. :guilty:

We had dinner there on Friday and it was the best meal all week. My mom and dad were skeptical about going and they even said it was the best meal all week. I had the Carribean Chicken Roll Appt. and the Mixed Grill entree. They both were huge portions. I wound up taking dessert to go but never ate it. Too stuffed to try it. I am definetly going there again. I also think they have the best kids meals. Not the same stuff you will see at every rest. on Disney property. My kids got chips and cheese sauce and the other got fried cheese sticks. The main meal was steak for one and fried shrimp for the other. My kids were sick of the Disney food by the end of the week but this was a nice change of pace for them. Hope this helps. Definetly worth a try.

We had dinner there a couple of years ago and loved it. Very quiet and sedate, lovely food. We went back last May and it was mad. Servers more or less threw the food at us and once served we were ignored. Check was put on the table as soon as we finished eating without a thanks, kiss my :bitelip: or anything! The food was still ok but you can have the same food with far better service elsewhere.

We've got ADRs for MG in December too. I'm looking forward to trying it, but I'm just wondering, does anyone have the dessert menu? Allearsnet doesn't have it listed.

Is it good?

I read on another thread that they bring a dessert tray out....so I'm guessing that the dessert is always different. I'm beginning to become a little skeptical though about dining there....oh...i hate second thoughts!

I had dinner at the Maya Grill four times last November while at a convention there and I LOVED it!! During those days I had the Chargrilled Chicken Breast,, Filet Mignon, RibEye Steak, and the seafood margarita... On two evenings the chef came around and chatted with the guest to make sure make sure they were satisfied with their food.:)

Looking forward to having dinner there again in a couple of days.

We went there when it first opened and it has been DH favorite restaurant. I asked him where he would like to eat that I had not made ressies for and this was what first popped into his head. "That was the best filet I ever had...." We have ressies for Thanksgiving there and I'm looking forward to it.
