Reviews of Maya Grill dinner needed!

My family and I ate there in May 2003 during our week stay at the Coronado Springs Resort. We ate breakfast twice there. It was very good and worth the price. We didn't however eat there for dinner, we were always at the parks at night.

Side note: We did eat at The Pepper Market for dinner and enjoyed it. To save on the extra 10% we got our food to go and ate in our room.

Hubby and I did a big family vacation at CSR with all our Bro/Sis and kids in 2000. We (kids included) my Bro and his Fiance and niece ate at the Maya one evening. I have to tell you, the service was impeccable, and the food unbelievable. I had some kind of seafood combo, and so did my hubby and older son, and it was the best seafood I have ever had!!!! I wish I could remember exactly the kind of fish, but I don't, I just remeber it was AWESOME! I do remeber my bro had chillean sea bass, and he was completely under the spell too. Even my younger son liked his meal and he ordered off the kids menu. We decided when we go back, (probably by ourselve's next time, kids have kindof moved on) we will go back here without a doubt. This restaurant was a little pricey if your on a budget, but in my world, if I can't afford to stay inside the "world" then I wouldn't be there at all!!!! Have fun..I'm Jealous!::yes::

From what I understand, the menu is no longer as creative as it was in 2000. Uncleromulus among others has posted that Maya Grill now serves a conventional Tex-Mex steakhouse-type cuisine, which is sad. We dined here in 1997 and enjoyed it; the menu change has kept us from going back

Unfortunately, the excellent meal enjoyed by navymom924 in 2000 (and by us 3 times in the past) is no longer available.
Tho we do breakfast at Maya every trip, our take on the new dinner menu is "mainstream steakhouse".
But as we haven't actually tried it, I can't really help with a review:(

Good luck getting an up-to-date dinner review of this place. I'm sure there are people eating dinner there everyday, but they don't seem to post on these boards! I've been trying to get someone's opinon on the current menu, but to no avail. I hope someone will prove me wrong and answer your post.

P.S. Welcome to the Dis boards navymom924!

I have also been waiting for a Maya Grill review, with no luck so far. Unless I hear something positive before our trip in just over a week (:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc sorry, couldn't help myself!) I doubt if we'll try it this time.

Actually, I just convinved DBf to go tonight since we finished all of our errands early. I'll get this report in by tomorrow night, putting a rush job on it!

Woo hoo! Forever42, you are the absolute best!!

Hehehe, thanks!

In short, it was a great meal! To make it more interesting, stick with the appetizers and desserts, and share an entree. The ribs were VERY tender, even though they were St Louis ribs. The classic margarita - excellent. Best I've had in or out of Disney.

More in depth tomorrow.
